Experience: 7 + years Location: 100% remote Duration: 6-12 months contract possibility of converting if hire eligible but to guaranteed headcount Interview Process: 1 technical video interview (potential for 2 rounds if they are not 100% sure after first round) Start Date: ASAP Must Haves: 5+ years of experience in professional software development/software engineering Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot Developed of applications using Java and Spring Boot to a production environment Experience developing Microservices with Spring Boot Experience decomposing monolithic applications into microservices. Worked with message queues, caching, logging tools, and a variety of different data sources: Relational Databases, NoSQL Experience developing automated test suites (Junit is a must): unit tests, integration tests, contract testing, end to end testing. Experience with CI/CD tools: Git (absolute requirement), Jenkins (other pipeline technologies are also ok) Proven experience with caching & performance tuning Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills. Writes clean code and knows how to effectively refactor (using software design patterns where appropriate) Plusses: Working in a cloud environment (GCP Preferred) Experience with Kubernetes Experience with any application monitoring tools (for example, Dynatrace) Experience optimizing applications for reduced cloud costs. Familiarity with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) Experience performing application-level architecture or system design work Knowledge of Domain Driven Design (DDD) Knowledge of front-end web development (not expert level knowledge but enough familiarity to collaborate effectively with people that do front-end development) Soft Skills: Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal. Open to pair programming Can work well with other developers of varying experience levels from entry-level through advanced senior level folks. Can effectively collaborate with product managers and help breakdown the implications of technical decisions for a wide audience. Proven ability to work with junior developers and train where needed. Experience working in large development projects. Worked in an agile setting (eXtreme Programming preferred), scrum, Kanban Works well on a team. Experience leading, co-leading, or de-facto leading a team.
