Position: Mainframe System Admin Location: Newark, NJ (Initially Remote) Duration: 6+ months Contract Client: TCS Rate: $52/Hr. on C2C Role Description: Must have Technical Skills requirements Experience with various z/Architectures, GDPS/ Sysplex Setup and Maintenance Strong hands on IPL / POR procedures and Automation Good Knowledge in mainframe hardware and associated peripherals, z/OS , JES2 , TSO / ISPF, DFSMS ,VTAM, SMP/E, User Mods, RACF, HMC, HCD, and VTAM and commands Strong knowledge in RACF / ACF2 to audit the privileges. Strong knowledge in IBM/ISV Utilities, Tools OMEGAMON, Mainview, Sysview Experience in DASD storage management and tools DFHSM, $AVRS and dispatch tools Strong knowledge in REXX, CLIST, JCL , OMVS, TWS, CA7, OPC, Control-M, Experience in disaster recovery setup and conducting DR drills. Mainframe Capacity Planning & Performance Tuning as per business needs Experience in Value Add services, such as MIPS Optimization, Software rationalization, Specialty Engines Mainframe migration, Version Upgrade & Automation activities (REXX, CLIST, Assembler, other) Experience in handling complex escalated issues Mainframe z/OS upgrade / migration CA & IBM z/OS related product installation zOS Networking Summary of key responsibilities Review the documents on regular basis to maintain AS IS processes and procedures of the z/OS administration as current as possible. Support for Set up of offshore mainframe z/OS administration & mainframe service delivery. Build Relationship with customer and SMEs at customers site. Build Relationship with hardware vendors & support teams. Identify risk in operations and provide mitigation and track till completion. Plan and support Version Upgrade, Operating system, and tools Installation Track the delivery and enforce SLA including vendors. Capacity planning and system performance tuning Track all escalations and bridge the gaps accordingly thru action Items. Draft policies in consultation with client and workload as per business need thru ITIL framework Validate mainframe reports with customer and ensure completion on time. Experience in Automation and Tools (REXX, CLIST, Assembler, others) PARMLIB and PROCLIB concatenation, customization, and maintenance Ensure System Availability as per SLA and own the mainframe service delivery.
