The candidate must be onsite 3 days a week. Position Description: Job duties include evaluating current application design, and architecture, to determine the UI, Architecture & Development changes to the system to recommend, design, upgrades/system development, and enhancement to the new CATCH system. This position is housed under the Application Software Development (ASD) Team of the Office of Information Systems (OIS). To ensure success as an application architect, you should exhibit extensive application development knowledge and experience in evaluating business needs. A top-notch application architect will be someone whose expertise in application architecture translates into optimized business operations. A Sr. Software Application Architect will need to be conversant in content management solutions, physical infrastructure and security, creative design, and Web 2.0 technologies and be able to align all the initiatives supporting this program so that they work together as a single, consistent architecture. A Sr. Software Application Architect will help the team build and implement additional functionality and system enhancements as requested for ESA TANF-funded associated applications. Ability to work on multiple versions of .NET CORE, ASP.NET, Angular, MS/Azure BOT Framework, Azure AI Services, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and someone comfortable developing and working with Web/REST APIs. DHS's OIS/ASD team is looking for a Senior Software Application Architect whose primary responsibilities include evaluating current TANF System CATCH application design and architecture, collaborating with project managers, stakeholders, development team & subject matter experts in determining the UI, Architectural, and Developmental changes to the system to draft, design upgrades/system development, delivery, and enhancement of the new CATCH system. The successful candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, characteristics, experiences, and/or abilities: Collaborating with various stakeholders to determine software requirements. Collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements Presenting regular progress reports and setting goals. Works with business analysts to refine business requirements based on technical feasibility; develops prototypes; ensures that technical specifications are kept current during the development process and ensures that the estimates in the technical specification are accurate. Define technical specifications for workflows and business rules Work with the development team to configure, build, and unit test solution components, including data structures, roles, workflows, imports/exports, and user interfaces/portals Work with the development team to build and unit test data migration and integration components Identify, design, and document system roadmaps with increasing levels of integration Support integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing Acts as a communication bridge between technical IST development and business leaders in easy-to-understand language Good knowledge or working experience in Agile projects. Very strong in web development which includes .NET Platform(4.8), .Net Core, ASP.NET MVC (4.0 / 5.0), Angular, HTML, HTML 5, and CSS. Works with Quality Assurance / Quality Control teams to ensure the application remains secure and defect free. Provides strategic advice to the lead, management, and customers of the OIS. Updates and/or creates system and process documentation, produce user guides, ER diagrams, and SOPs as needed -Including Visio Network design drawings. Position Requirements: The Senior .NET Architect/Senior Software Applications Architect role requires a high level of technical expertise combined with excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills and the ability to work on teams. Practitioners must have experience with relevant development tools and specific application and system architecture, in addition to a strong understanding of object-oriented design. Expertise in the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-level N-tier architecture in a Microsoft .NET Framework platform is required. Software skill sets include .NET CORE, Azure, MS BOT Framework, AJAX, C#/C++, and SQL Server. Position Responsibilities: Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff. Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines. Develops a strategy of system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy. Advises on selecting technological purchases regarding processing, data storage, data access, and application development.
