Title: Oracle Application DBA Location: 100% remote Duration: Long-term Contract Top-level security clearance needed Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Oracle Application DBA with System DBA knowledge to join our growing IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Oracle Applications environment while also providing expertise in Oracle Database tuning and administration activities. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Applications environments, including database, middleware, and other required components. Possess the ability to write intermediate-level SQL queries and demonstrate familiarity with PL/SQL, enabling efficient data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis. Provide Oracle database support to application programmers, tune SQL statements, and leverage strong technical aptitude to learn, evaluate, apply, and master new technologies. Exhibit a versatile skillset to design solutions and solve problems at different levels of the technology stack, with an intermediate ability to script and automate processes using appropriate tools. Perform Oracle Database and Application performance tuning, optimizing various components to ensure optimal system performance. Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to the Oracle Applications and Database environments, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth transitions between versions. Implement and maintain security best practices for Oracle Applications and Database systems, including user access controls, data encryption, and periodic security assessments. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for Oracle Applications and Database environments to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime in case of system failures or data corruption. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Oracle Applications and Database environments, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and other operational problems. Collaborate with developers to implement customizations and extensions to Oracle Applications, ensuring compatibility and adherence to Oracle best practices. Configure and maintain integrations between Oracle Applications and other systems, such as third-party applications or in-house systems. Monitor and plan for capacity requirements for the Oracle Applications and Database environments to ensure optimal performance and scalability. Document procedures, best practices, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge sharing among team members and to support business continuity. Set up monitoring tools and generate reports to track system health, usage patterns, and performance metrics for Oracle Applications and Database environments. Collaborate with other IT team members, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless operation and support for the Oracle Applications and Database environments. Provide training and support to end-users and other team members on Oracle Applications and Database functionality and best practices. Ensure that the Oracle Applications and Database environments adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both individually and collaboratively, while maintaining effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Oracle Application DBA, with a strong background in Oracle Database administration and tuning. Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion Applications, or Oracle PeopleSoft environments. Strong knowledge of Oracle Database performance tuning and optimization techniques. Experience with Oracle Database backup and recovery strategies. Knowledge of Oracle High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, such as Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, or Oracle GoldenGate. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
