Job Description:

The Desktop Engineer will be based out of the NY office and will be responsible for the development, management, implementation, and support of workstations across the environment within a rapidly growing Hedge Fund. The Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for nearly 
1000
+ devices across all locations worldwide. Ensuring the desktop environment is stable, secure, efficient, and meeting the requirements and workflows of the firm. The Senior Desktop Engineer will work closely with colleagues and be expected to contribute significantly to projects and support initiatives. Working alongside various internal IT groups, practice groups, users, business owners, etc. to help implement applications, technologies, workflows, processes, and procedures to maintain a secure, stable, efficient, and controlled desktop environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of the desktop environment and its lifecycle.

Linux experience

PowerShell scripting

Management of workstations with MEM/Intune.

Creation, customization, deployment and maintenance of windows images and task sequences.

Application packaging, customization and delivery based off collected business and project requirements, timelines and needs.

Patching of OS, Office, and all 3rd party applications. Report and monitor patch compliance.

Maintain and monitor the MEM/Intune environment.

MEM/Intune adoption and workload shift buildout of policies, procedures, and best practices.

Maintain and monitor the VMWare Horizon Virtual Desktop environment.

Assist in projects, work with business owners to gather requirements and put together implementation strategies/resolutions.

Provide 3rd level investigation and resolution of desktop incidents, problems and support. Take ownership of issues and the delivery of a resolution.

Maintain, update, and manage the Telephony and UC platforms

Follow workflows and document processes for internal policies and procedures for changes and standard operating procedures.

Security focused, adapting and adopting processes and implementations on security needs and directives.

Propose necessary Group Policy Objects and Active Directory changes to support the desktop environment.

Stay abreast with industry changes, research new methods for enhancing processes, performance, reliability, optimization, and overall user experience.

Provide support, expert advice, and guidance within the desktop field of expertise including Operating Systems, applications, hardware, best practices, etc.

Operational support for day-to-day activities that comprise of client health checks, troubleshooting, reporting, software packaging, distribution, etc.

Proactively determine, scope and execute on projects to bring improvement to the working environment.

Other responsibilities as they are assigned.

 Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Desktop Engineer role

A college degree or equivalent certifications/work experience preferred.

Experience with Co-Management and workloads in Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune

Experience with services hosted in Azure.

Experience with Lenovo and Dell devices.

Experience with Cisco Telephony

Experience with MFA and MDM Technologies

Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule according to business requirements.

Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet established timeframes.

Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
