Lead architectural design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization. Collaborate with multiple teams such as internal/external partners combined with excellent communication skills. Configure and resolve issues related to Cosmos failover, throughput, application performance, change feed, etc Act as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Cosmos DB and you are expected to lead applications and projects independently. Lead engineering staff in the development of database support solutions; and mentor and lead the Cosmos DB engineering team and team members to deliver solutions within an Agile environment. Evaluate overall performance of your computer systems and provide recommendations for improving performance Monitor and maintain critical hardware information for the database machine. Develop new processes, utilize and refine existing processes for database software installation and configuration Enforce and refine database standards. Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, preventing customer impact Review performance stats and recommend changes for tuning database, server, and storage configurations, as well as application SQL Participate in periodic backup audits, including test restores ensuring all databases and associated logs are being backed-up Develop new backup and recovery processes that leverages new techniques and technology Assume ownership of database related problems; pursue problem resolution and root cause analysis Coordinate interaction with vendors in critical database problem situations Mentor existing DBAs, providing guidance on training plans. Learn and stay current on the key facets of the applications that leverage the databases being supported Cooperates with the Enterprise Architecture team on database technology decisions Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of cross system interactions as well as an enterprise view of the clients data needs Monitor and take relevant action on Azure Synapse related incidents Requirements: Must-Have 5+ years of experience administering large Cosmos databases in a high transaction environment. 5+ years of experience in Cloud Technologies, Cloud native services, Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Platform as a Service database 5+ years of experience writing PowerShell scripts 4+ years of experience/knowledge of Azure Infrastructure including Network, Security, and app performance tools such as Dynatrace, App Insight, Log Analytics, etc 8+ Years of writing and tuning SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and data migration 3+ Years of experience in Splunk queries, Azure DevOps, CI/CD Must have solid experience developing apps for Azure and working with Azure Cosmos DB database technologies. Should be proficient at developing applications that use the API for Azure Cosmos DB for NoSQL, and write efficient SQL queries for the API Experience creating server-side objects and should be able to interpret JSON Experience deploying a large-scale ERP solution preferable Knowledge of DB Tools/Utilities (e.g., Toad, Enterprise Manager, Utilities, SQL Developer) Experience with SAP tools (BRTOOLS/DBACOCKPIT/DB02/ST04, etc.) Experience in Capacity Planning, DB Re-Org, DB Compression Strong troubleshooting and proactive analytical skills to ensure minimum downtime of production databases Must have proven ability to follow priorities and timelines Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills Azure certification would be an added advantage.
