OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Engineers Roles & Responsibilities are:

The OCP Platform Engineer is responsible for the efficient engineering support of infrastructure to run container applications. This includes
providing convenient, scalable solutions for development, deployment, and operations across teams, languages, and cloud and on-prem/off-prem environments.

Consult with new application team to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements

Work tightly with application team, capture requirements, and assist with onboarding process

Support applications teams with containerization of new applications and tools

Support implementation of container governance tools to enable developers

Monitor and escalate capacity, allocations, security, environment portability

Drive containers adoption to become the primary SME for OpenShift Kubernetes environment

Support a multi-tenant OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters

Collaborate with both internal and external team members

Handle OpenShift/Kubernetes platform incidents and requests related to deployment

Assist with Sysdig application monitoring and triage alerts when escalated by IO (infrastructure operations) team

Assist developers and support teams to ensure issues are resolved

Support developers in Dev, Staging and Production environments

Support onboarding of development teams to the sandbox environment

Assist with application security scanning

Support DevOps/CI/CD deployment processes and tooling

Participates in the overall support of the OpenShift Container Platform

Perform continuous review and process improvement

Develop and maintain OCP CI/CD automation (helm, jenkins, etc.) Required Skills:

Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering

At least 3-5+ years of experience working with containers Openshift Kubernetes

Experience working on open-source projects

Strong expertise in DevOps and CI/CD implementation, onboard development teams to the environment, and manage the CI/CD pipeline tools using Jenkins

Thorough knowledge of cloud-native development

Understanding of microservice design and architectural patterns

Familiar with complex event processing and event-driven architecture

Strong presentation skills

Preferred Skills:

Expertise in Linux

Proficient in SDLC, Waterfall, and Agile methodologies

Maintenance of Container clusters

Implement design patterns for distributed systems

Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments

Comfortable collaborating with team-mates working Remote

Professional certifications

Artifactory cloud development

Container developer experience

Ansible automation
