Position: Resource Commissioning Manager Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Mode of Interview: Phone and Video Job Description: Project Scope (Job responsibilities): a. Lead effort to successfully register, test, and qualify a Resource in ERCOT ADER/Load Resource Project Scope of Work Subject Matter Resource Summary: Gexa Energy has undertaken two separate but related Load Resource initiatives: A Residential-based effort pertaining to ERCOTs Aggregated Distributed Energy Resource (ADER) pilot project A commercial effort to provide Load Resource capabilities whether integrated with retail commodity supply or independent of it Load Resource Definition: Formal program used by ERCOT to dispatch loads into the real-time energy and ancillary markets Load resources in ERCOT are treated separately from Generation resources but have similar requirements relating to telemetry, controls, scheduling, operations, and dispatchability. Distinct from ERS and all other DR products SME Role & Responsibility: Responsible for successful participation in ERCOTs ADER pilot program and the Load Resource product 1. Fundamentals: a. Enable successful level 4 qualification of the ADER QSE with ERCOT from registration through provisional qualification i. Complete all resource registration steps necessary to configure a Resources ICCP telemetry with ERCOT ii. Achieve a Production Load Ready state for the Resource with ERCOT iii. Achieve Provisional Qualification of the Resource b. Enable the Resource to pass its Ancillary services test at the Resources maximum capacity 2. System development: a. Serve as interface between NextEra Energy Marketing (NEM) and NextEra Energy Analytics (NEA) in order to: i. Facilitate development of N360 Dispatcher to manage Load Resource operations in DA and RT markets, for use by: 1. Real Time Desk (Chris Martin & team) 2. NextEra Energy Analytics (Matthew Harbeson/Carlos Zada) 3. Retail Supply (Stephen Jensen) b. Facilitate development and testing of GMS/N360 Dispatcher in context of: i. ERCOT connectivity ii. DA scheduling iii. Base Point instructions iv. ICCP telemetry and SCADA landing points v. User Acceptance (Gexa Supply & RT desk) c. Serve as Key User for the RIOS system, including the Resource Asset Registration Form 3. Processes: a. Facilitate Documentation of Processes: i. Create Program Manual for cross-functional agreement and use, to include: 1. Acceptable customer-facing product structures (product options) 2. On boarding steps, external & internal 3. Daily Operations 4. Settlements and billing ii. Document rules of the road to govern interactions between retail Supply (long term strategies) and RT desk (short term DA strategies) iii. Document all systematic interactions, including all flows of power data and financial data iv. Engage with Regulatory to ensure all recent Nodal Protocol Revision Requests are taken into account v. Assist with creation of vetting matrix to establish minimum required margin vi. Serve as Key User for commercial contract documents to insure comportment with acceptable product & revenue sharing options b. Settlements processes: i. Work with Billing, IT, and Transaction Management to establish procedures for ingestion of settlement data and all related cash flows c. Billing processes: i. Enable Billing to create allocation formulae for settlements (positive and negative) to customers and in accordance with the contract d. Establish Risk Management processes related to: i.
