Position: Senior Systems Engineer Locations: Glen Burnie, MD or Hanover, MD Duration: Contract Job Description: Looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to assist with enterprise level operational support of server, storage and virtualization infrastructure. The senior level resource will report to IT leadership for tasking and duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate will be working with IT leadership to plan, implement and troubleshoot enterprise server, storage, and virtualization efforts. The candidate will work and collaborate with technical contacts to support, as needed, any high-level TBU server, virtualization, and storage incidents. The candidate will architect new server, storage, and virtualization implementation. The candidate will participate in incident technical response, including technical bridge participation and input. The candidate will participate and contribute to various technical meetings. The candidate will work to configure, manage, and troubleshoot infrastructure and storage support including HP Synergy and C7000 chassis and blade servers; Nutanix HCI and F5 Load Balancers; Brocade fiber channel switches; NetApp storage with CIFS and iSCSI protocols. The candidate will configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise patching using Ivanti Patch for Windows. The candidate will configure, manage, and troubleshoot SSL certificate infrastructure. The candidate will configure, implement, manage and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2008+, as well as Linux OS The candidate will configure, implement, manage, and troubleshoot VMware virtualization infrastructure, including vSphere 7 and vCenter. The candidate will configure, implement, manage and troubleshoot enterprise backup using Catalogix DPX, vRanger and Microsoft Azure Backup and HPE tape libraries. The candidate will conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation steps using Rapid 7 and CounterAct Required Skills: The candidate must be able to perform server infrastructure support design, configuration, build, deployment, and troubleshooting, for Windows and Linux operating systems. (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019), preferably Red Hat/CentOS and Ubuntu. The candidate must be able to perform virtualization infrastructure support design, configuration, build, deployment, and troubleshooting, for VMware vSphere virtual infrastructure, including ESXi; virtual storage, virtual networking. The candidate must be able to perform physical blade server support design, configuration, build, deployment, and troubleshooting, for HP blade chassis infrastructure. The candidate must be able to perform network storage support design, configuration, build, deployment, and troubleshooting, for NetApp and Infinidat network storage. The candidate must be able to successfully architect, configure, implement and troubleshoot HP blade chassis / server blades for enterprise server and virtualization implementation. The candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills. The candidate must have demonstrable experience with SSL and PKI infrastructure.
