Location: 1st Month ONSITE in ALBANY, NY and then REMOTE Duration: 6 months + extensions Visa: No h1 NO OPT CPT They dont have to have worked at DOT but they have to have some kind of prior NY Agency experience where hopefully they understand creating reports for other NY Agencies . They would need to learn the DOT database and work with subject matter experts ONSITE in Albany for probably a few weeks but then it would be remote. The first 6 months is really just heavy report writing. Dashboards will come later and the more fun and fancy stuff would be after that 6 months of report generation. The Tableau Reports Developer will work within their respective areas to develop and modify reports and prepare data for use in Tableau, develop extracts, publish data sources and workbooks, develop custom scripts. Dashboards will be needed eventually but the first phase will be heavy report generation. JOB DUTIES Develop, test and maintain data extracts, visualizations, and reports in Tableau for executive, operational and management usage Collaborate with firm leadership to design and implement dynamic Tableau reports to support various client needs Troubleshoot and address Tableau-related data issues as they arise REQUIREMENTS : 3+ years hands-on experience with Tableau development, and report generation Superior organizational, resourcefulness, multi-tasking and time management skill Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and prioritize effectively Strong creative and analytical mindset with a passion for solving business problems through technology Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with non-technical users Experience in using SQL to query large databases. Able to create ad-hoc queries and complex stored procedures to be used in reporting tools. Must have advanced level experience with Excel. Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships and ability to work with business and system owners to obtain requirements and manage expectations Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience writing SQL, PL/SQL Scripts Must have prior New York State agency experience. Understanding of NYS databases is necessary This position will be remote but the resource will be required to be ON-SITE in Albany, NY, initially to work with agency subject matter experts and to learn the agency tools.
