EXCELLENT VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS!!! Required: DATASTAX/CASSANDRA DBA POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of experience in DataStax/Cassandra is a MUST! Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field. 5+ years of experience in Database Management/Data Integration. Proficient in one or more Database Management Systems (e.g. DB2i, DB2 LUW, DataStax, Oracle, SQL Server). Familiar with one or more replication technologies (e.g. DT Share, CDC, SQL Replication, Antiunity). Ability to read a Logical Data Model a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented. Can juggle multiple priorities. Strong analytical, problem solving ability. May require travel to branch locations. Regular and reliable attendance. Certifications are a PLUS. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design moderately complex databases, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers and other database objects. Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions. Work closely with application development project teams to ensure optimal application performance. Optimize database performance through a number of techniques including but not limited to: indexing, query optimization, database design. Participate in periodic High Availability/Disaster Recovery tests of critical systems. Proactively monitor database performance, capacity planning and resource consumption. Provide day to day support for databases and database applications. Upgrade and patch DBMSs. Ensure databases and database objects are backed up according to business requirements, and recovery procedures are tested and documented. Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgement.
