The state-mandated educator evaluation programs depend on legacy applications and require specialized skill sets not readily available internally. Requested resources will focus on the technical development, testing, compliance, and final rollout of school, field, and community facing products as well as the implementation of system updates and resource revisions to support an integrated and coherent student support model across districts. This will allow OPE to measure, analyze, and interpret academic progress and socioemotional learning with a focus on special populations such as students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and students in temporary housing. OPE requires IT professional services to support day-to-day needs for critical business functions and objectives for OPE applications. Full Stack Developer leads the effort to build and maintain complex, large datasets for use in OPE products to develop, deploy, and support interactive web tools. The Full Stack Developer will support all development-related aspects of certain OPE products, including working to build scalable, secure, and dynamic web tools for all members of the NYCDOE, including back-end and front-end infrastructure, planning, testing, systems programming, and team process management; partnering to create long-term value, manage solution architecture, and ensure compliance with all standards, laws, and protocols; and technical development, testing, compliance, and final rollout of data infrastructure and sustained extract-transform-load (ETL) procedures that support school, field, and community-facing products. JOB DESCRIPTION OUTLINE OF RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, design, integrate, and develop back-end database-driven features, in collaboration with UX Designers and research analysts. Utilize the Python language and frameworks, such as Flask. Create interactive web user interfaces in JavaScript. Develop and deploy public- and school-facing websites in code that is cross-browser and cross-platform friendly. Provide technical advice and make recommendations to other team members. Support ongoing development and drive new development for OPE products and related underlying projects. Support all development-related aspects of OPE products, including: a. building scalable, secure, and dynamic web tools for all members of the NYCDOE, including back-end and front-end infrastructure, planning, testing, systems programming, and team process management; b. creating long-term value, manage solution architecture, and ensure compliance with all standards, laws, and protocols; and c. ensuring the site stability and managing the technical execution of enhancements Technologies: SQL; SAS; other scripting language (R, and/or Python); JavaScript, Python, PHP and other server-side languages; HTML5; CSS. MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 8+ years expertise in SQL, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
