It is a Contract role. Location - 1. REMOTE*- If you have candidates with 6+ yrs of Cassandra experience, we can consider them for remote. 2. On-Site**- Waukegan, IL, if you have candidates with less than 6+ yrs of Cassandra experience. Rate Learn what is a reasonable rate on the market today and go from there PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design moderately complex databases, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers and other database objects. Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions. Optimize database performance through a number of techniques including but not limited to: indexing, query optimization, database design. Participate in periodic High Availability / Disaster Recovery tests of critical systems. Proactively monitor database performance, capacity planning and resource consumption. Provide day to day support for databases and database applications. Upgrade and patch DBMSs. Ensure databases and database objects are backed up according to business requirements, and recovery procedures are tested and documented. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in information technology or related field. 5 plus years of experience in Database Management / Data Integration. Proficient in one or more Database Management Systems (e.g. DB2i, DB2 LUW, DataStax, Oracle, SQL Server). Familiar with one or more replication technologies (e.g. DTShare, CDC, SQL Replication, Attunity) Ability to read a Logical Data Model a plus.
