Position: SAS Analytical Consultant (Hybrid) Location: ( 3 Days Onsite & 2 Days Remote), Raleigh, NC Duration : 12 + Months Job Description: Responsibilities We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist with extensive experience providing SAS/SQL and data warehouse analytical solution services.. The candidate will deliver strategic insight to DHB management by competently leveraging data analysis techniques, sophisticated technology tools, and information management principles to help our stakeholders make well-informed decisions. The position will have direct client contact and be tasked to identify, query, and analyze complex data to interpret trends or patterns and to advise and assist DHB business partners in drawing supportable conclusions and developing actionable recommendations. The candidate is expected to work without assistance; can provide leadership to others; able to manage highly complex work efforts; adeptly reflect complex technical specifications accurately in developed SAS/SQL code; may have advanced education; has extensive related industry experience. The candidate will report to a Business Information & Analytics Manager. Description of expected competencies (including, but not limited to): 1. Technical expertise and work experience in SAS, SQL (required) Tableau (preferred) Cognos (preferred) and data quality control (required ). 2. Specialization in providing solutions for healthcare data management to propose and implement operational reporting that improves executive decision making and provides analytical capabilities for the client. 3. Data aggregation, analysis, and reporting experience using Medicaid Management Information systems (MMIS), Medicaid or Commercial Health Care administrative claims and encounters, provider and eligibility data, or other large and complex Health Care data sources. 4. Understanding of healthcare management to prepare operational reporting and/or performance dashboards to improve decision making and provide analytical insight for the division. 5. Ability to work with division staff to assess and understand reporting needs; design, develop and execute appropriate solutions. Perform statistical analysis to explore and solve complex business problems. 6. Experience using technical specifications to develop reports and advanced analytics for state and national healthcare utilization, standards of care and quality of care measures and program oversight. 7. Proven ability to manage client data requests including timelines; experienced with discerning requirements for analysis, hands-on design and development as well as excellent communication skills.
