As partof this team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all newdatabase code adheres to the highest company standards in terms of readability,reliability, and performance. Yourweekly tasks will involve providing developers with a curated list of the top10 most resource-intensive queries on the server and offering valuable insightson how to enhance their performance. In addition, you will be tasked withdesigning indexes for existing applications and making informed decisions onwhen to add or remove indexes to optimize efficiency. Whenconfronted with user complaints regarding the performance of specific queries,you will play a pivotal role in assisting developers in refining the query,tweaking it, or modifying indexes to resolve the issue. Moreover, you will beresponsible for conducting informative SQL Server lunch-and-learn sessions toempower application developers with valuable knowledge. Yourexpertise will be sought in advising developers on the most efficient databasedesigns, encompassing tables, data types, stored procedures, functions, andmore. Toexcel in this role, you must possess substantial experience, including: A minimum of one year of experience in writing and enhancing SQL Server T-SQL queries, making you the go-to person for T-SQL inquiries. Proficiency in designing tables and selecting appropriate data types. Utilization of tools like Profiler traces and DMV queries to identify frequently executed queries. Familiarity with free tools like sp_BlitzIndex and DMV queries to address questions related to index usage. Experience in providing on-call troubleshooting for SQL Server service outages. The ability to determine whether clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication, or other methods are suitable to address specific business challenges. Applicantsmust have a minimum of 8 years of experience working for US companies in theUS and at least 4 years of recent banking experience since 2016. Demonstratedexperience in Level 3 support is essential. As this position pertains to the"Global" unit, candidates should have consistent and on averageexperience in working with database sizes of 30TB or more. Experiencein managing large-scale enterprise application setups across Data centers ishighly valued. You should also possess a minimum of 10 years of experienceperforming general database administration tasks, such as databaseimplementation, code deployments, backups, and creation of user accounts. Therole requires a minimum of 7 years of experience working as a SQL Server DBAand should include functional and application DBA experience. Additionally,candidates must have a minimum of 5 years administering databaseplatform-specific advanced features, including clustering, encryption,logical/physical standby, ETL, replication, as well as optimizing serverdatabase servers and SQL code. Proficiencyin MS SQL Server 2014 - 2019, along with skills in SSIS package creation anddebugging, stored procedure development, and tuning, is crucial. Exposure todata replication is also highly desirable.
