Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ Administrator with expertise in AWS MQ and monitoring tools to join our IT operations team. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining our messaging infrastructure, ensuring smooth and reliable message delivery across our organization. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues related to messaging systems. Key Responsibilities: 1. IBM MQ and AWS MQ Administration: Deploy, configure, and manage IBM MQ and AWS MQ environments in both on-premises and cloud (AWS) environments. Monitor messaging queues, channels, and brokers to ensure optimal performance and high availability. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as applying fixes, patches, and upgrades to keep the messaging infrastructure up-to-date. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to message delivery, connectivity, and integration with applications. Collaborate with development and application teams to provide support for messaging-related requirements and troubleshooting. 2. Monitoring Tools Implementation and Management: Identify suitable monitoring tools for the messaging infrastructure and design monitoring solutions that align with business needs. Implement monitoring configurations to capture key performance metrics, message flow, and resource utilization. Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports to ensure early detection of potential issues and to facilitate proactive resolution. Conduct regular performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal system performance and scalability. 3. Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Respond promptly and effectively to messaging system incidents and outages. Investigate root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams during critical incidents to minimize business impact and ensure timely restoration of services. 4. Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and best practices to protect messaging systems and data integrity. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations regarding messaging and monitoring practices. 5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to IBM MQ, AWS MQ configurations, monitoring setups, and incident resolution procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience (X years) as an IBM MQ Administrator in large-scale production environments. Strong expertise in AWS MQ and experience with cloud-based messaging solutions. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation tasks. Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., IBM Tivoli Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana). In-depth knowledge of messaging protocols, message queuing, and integration patterns. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex messaging-related issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Familiarity with security practices and standards related to messaging systems.
