Client: State of NC The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires a Senior Applications DBA to support migration of Oracle database effort from on-prem to AWS cloud and design/development of various applications for NC FAST in AWS Cloud. Primary responsibilities include managing the application schema, design, and extensions within the database for development, test, and production environments for very large Oracle database on Linux platform. The responsibilities also include database technical support, performance tuning, application administration and consulting, and providing support for Oracle, Oracle Data guard, Oracle Golden Gate. This resource will serve in a key role in the creation of database migration plans from on-Prem to AWS, participate in the development of procedures for effective database use and ensuring standards are met. Other duties include working with developers to identify and refine data requirements, database design, database migration planning, and configuration, performing backup and recovery, monitoring database performance, and reorganizing database structures as needed, and creation and modification of test and production data, base schemas. This role is also required to provide technical leadership in data archiving, data extract (full copy or subset) from production region to non-production region, and data masking/de-identification of the extract data. Skill Matrix: Required / Desired Amount of Experience Demonstrable skills in designing schema, access patterns, locking strategy, SQL development, and tuning Oracle Databases in an enterprise environment Required 7 Years Modifying the database structure, creation and update to existing database objects per application needs Required 7 Years Experience in configuring, monitoring, and Cache management for Oracle database servers Required 3 Years Strong experience in allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system Required 3 Years Experience in supporting and implementing Oracle Golden Gate Required 2 Years Must have experience in implementing and supporting Oracle on AWS including RDS Required 2 Years Experience authoring code in SQL, PL/SQL on Unix/Linux Required 5 Years Proficiency in one or more shell scripting languages Required 2 Years Hands-on experience enrolling users and maintaining system security, Controlling user access to the database, Locking down host access Required 5 Years Monitoring performance metrics, response times, and request rates Required 5 Years Designing and implementing backup/restore service and disaster recovery (DR) solutions on AWS cloud Required 2 Years Experience with installing, upgrading, and patching the software that powers the database (Oracle) Required 3 Years Strong experience in data archiving solution for large oracle database Required 2 Years Experience with data masking/de-identification of production data for non-production usage.
