| Must Have Local Columbus OH Job Posting Title: Java Developer Location : Columbus OH- Must be local to Columbus Visa : NO H1B/OPT Job Description Summary: The Senior Software Engineer will perform analysis and design of software programs and systems and create, analyze, design, modify and test programs and systems. Postgres and hibernate are important skills to have and they will be tested on them hard. Also, based on the work we expect to be doing, weve refined our needs a bit for this position. If you can find someone with PostGres and/or Spring RPC experience it would be helpful Requirements: Uses industry standard programming techniques to translate requirements and designs into code. Analyze and solve problems in existing systems. Design, code and test multiple modules of a system in a timely manner. Participates in unit, system and acceptance testing by designing tests, building test data, test execution and evaluation. Along with recommending/making improvements/fixes to the tested system. Assists in developing and interpreting requirements. Follows all OCLC ISO-9000 procedures and the SDLC, as they pertain to their work unit, and continually seeks improvements to development procedures. Participates in major architectural reviews and plans. Plans and participates in load, capacity, and performance analysis and/or testing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline required 5 years of software development, five years of JAVA programming required Experience with the following technologies is a must -- JAVA, Object Oriented Design (and UML notation and patterns), Servlets, Spring-loC, MVC (Spring), JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, FreeMarker (or JSP or similar), AspectJ, Maven, Gradle Experience in designing REST APIs, Familiarity with OpenAPI, API testing tools such as Postman. Experience with JPA (Hibernate, Oracle TopLink, etc.). Experience with Linux (or any UNIX for that matter) required Experience with MySQL, Postgre SQL is desired. Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security OAuth 2, RestVue, Angular desired Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing and performance/stress testing Application observability with Micrometer, Prometheus, Graphana, etc. desired. Excellent communication skills is a must Ability to implement industry standard programming techniques by Mastering advanced fundamental software development concepts, practices, and procedures, and having the ability to analyze and solve problems in existing systems. Must have the ability to concentrate on a strictly technical focus, project management or a combination of the two depending on interests and project load of the work unit. Technical Focus: Expert in at least one discipline (UI, telecom, database, performance, etc.) on a single product or research project. Has successfully implemented multiple major areas of functionality. Participates as technical lead in sub-projects. Works with other areas in implementing significant architectural changes.
