For more than 25 years, weve channeled our leading research into tools and technology that champion teachers and build lifelong learners. Background and Objectives: Currently, Carnegie Learning is using an outdated version of Oracle as its ERP, as outlined in the Current Environment section below. We currently have a single node (both apps and database on the same tier) physical server that is hosted offsite with approximately 125 active users. Our version of Oracle is also integrated with other enterprise applications, as outlined in the Current Integrations section of this document. We would like to upgrade our version of Oracle to the latest version of Oracle (while maintaining our current application integrations) with the possible consideration of migrating to a cloud-based application. Whether we decide to upgrade to cloud-based application will be dependent on whether the cloud-based application would be flexible enough to accommodate our current business practices, the impact of the migration on the cost of our licenses and whether the cloud-based version forces periodic upgrades that require User Acceptance Testing. Thus, as a part of the scope of this project, an analysis of benefits and costs associated with migrating to the cloud must be performed. Our main objective with this upgrade is to bring Carnegie Learning into compliance with not only security concerns, but to also have a more stable environment and a better user experience while maintaining current functionality and current integrations. We also need to ensure that Carnegie Learning can internally support this application. The scope of this project does not include a re-design of business processes or an evaluation of how the newest version of Oracle can bridge current gaps. This is only an application upgrade, and possible migration of the application to the Cloud. High Level Project Requirements: Analysis related to the benefits and drawbacks associated with migrating from an on-premise version of Oracle to a version that is maintained in the cloud. Ability to maintain our current business practices, at a minimum. Ability to achieve Oracles highest degree of data security compliance. Ability to maintain our current integrations with the new version of Oracle (as outlined in the Current Integrations section of this document). Improved User Interface compared to the version of Oracle that Carnegie Learning is currently on. Increased application stability compared to the version of Oracle that Carnegie Learning is currently on. Ability to eliminate Carnegie Learnings need to rely on Oracles extended support program. Ability to have the functionality and security features that are provided by the newest Oracle patches. Ability for this version of Oracle to be able to be supported internally by Carnegie Learnings business applications staff. Current Environment: EBS: 12.1.3 (Latest available is 12.2.12) Hundreds of custom objects that will need to be evaluated for compatibility and relevance. Database: 11.2.0.3.0 Apex: 5.0.0.00.31 (Lasted available version is APEX 23.1) 31 Applications that will need to be tested, reviewed, and possibly redeveloped. OS: Oracle Linux Server release 6.10 on physical servers hosted at a third-party site Current Integrations: (These have real connections to Oracle. Im excluding things like KNK, Chrome River, 3PL files, etc. as they do not have hard interfaces) Workato (for Sales Force Integrations) Blackline Tableau DB Links to MySQL on AWS APIWizard Thanks and Regards, Mayank Bijlwan Technical Recruiter + 1 813 412 5257 Winorbit Tehnology LLC 10834 Breaking Rocks Dr Tampa, FL 33647 Keywords: database green card procedural language Florida |
