Role: Network Security Engineer

Location: NYC, NY - Hybrid

Duration: 1+ year

Visa: H4-EAD, GC-EAD, GC and USC only

Candidates must me local to the New York or New Jersey area and be willing to go into the office FOUR times a week.

ALL THESE TECHNOLOGIES ARE REQUIRED AND THEY ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A PURE SECURITY NETWORK ENGINEER.

Palo Alto is the main skill set followed by Cisco ASA AND ZSCALER. Candidates must have LinkedIn profiles. Senior level person (10+ years +) using Palo Alta, Cisco and Zscaler.

The more certifications the better (Palo Alto Certification at least preferred.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Work with the Head of IT Infrastructure to ensure appropriate staffing levels are met.
Prioritize and coordinate network team staff engineering and operations activities.
Collaborate on the design and building of the complete production IT infrastructure required to run a highly secure and highly available set of applications across multiple data centers.
Collaborate on the design and building of the corporate IT infrastructure.
Sharing knowledge with team members to help improve the team's overall skills and performance.
Adhere to quality standards and procedures to ensure the best specifications are always met and maintained.
Stay on the forefront of emerging technologies in order to recommend new technology and ideas that improve the platform and efficiency.
Collaborate with peers to generate realistic technical roadmaps across the whole organization.
Identify tools needed for the NOC team to ensure proper monitoring and operation.
Collaborate with the compliance team to provide required resources, appropriate documentation, and secure access during audits.
Implement and maintain controls and monitoring procedures to ensure availability of critical systems, and minimal service interruptions.
Be able to adapt to new technologies, applications, and perform critical required duties as necessary.
Determine when services should be outsourced in order to lower costs and/or free up internal team members to tackle tasks that give Protego a competitive advantage without losing required security or functionality.
Drive a collaborative culture that values technical depth, accountability, and customer service.
Occasional travel to other Protego, customer, and vendor offices.
Ability to share in on call rotation and work with remote locations around the world during their hours, as needed.

Required Skills:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology positions with an emphasis on infrastructure services.
Knowledge of business concepts, and an understanding of the links between major business processes, products, systems, and networks.
A track record of working collaboratively and productively with business partners.

System architecture
Experience and understanding of the following is desired:
IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code)
Automated software-based infrastructure management
Continuous integration/delivery
Knowledge of the following is nice to have:
VMware virtualization
NSX-T
Kubernetes networking
IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service: private cloud)
PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service)
