Job title: Security specialist Duration: 6 months Location: Remote Visa: USC/GC/GC EAD/ H4 EAD Moi: Skype Client from Information technology background Position Overview: A Security Engineer to work on end-to-end engineering and management of mainframe information protection, encryption, and key management technologies. Responsible for performing design, deployment architecture, implementation best practices and documentation for mainframe data set encryption and key management including master and operational keys. May also be engaged to implement best practices, key management process, loading of master keys using client TKE workstation appliance. Responsibilities: Provide design and deployment architecture support to the security team, explain the best practices aligned with NIST guidelines Provide support on ICSF, RACF, Key Stores (such as CKDS), etc., and assist the security team with implementation techniques Provide best practices and guidance on encryption of data sets (VSAM, DB2, IMS, etc.) as well as data migration (regular or extended format) using zDMF Assist with creation and maintenance of operational key labels for Mainframe Applications as part of Pervasive Encryption implementation Provide Mainframe Subject Matter Expert (SME) support during Business Continuity Process exercises Act as a SME/Technical Advisor on concepts of z/OS tools and facilities, creating documentation, reviewing policy changes, etc. Recommend, design, develop and implement automation for manual processes via scripting and other automation tools Need to be capable of creating technical/engineering documentation and have excellent written and oral communication Provide security engineering/design for cryptographic solutions and ensure risk mitigation via effective security configuration standards (such as NIST), best practices and while ensuring engineering discipline and quality security technology and business outcomes Participate in the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex information protection technologies, alongside other teams within our organization Work with the project security focal to complete or review client-required documentation necessary to meet accreditation requirements Required Experience: 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience 3+ years of experience with client Mainframes and z/OS security 2+ years of Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) experience Proven experience successfully designing, developing and deploying automation solutions for technical and engineering processes Demonstrated experience implementing automation solutions in the mainframe environment Proven experience about the components of Pervasive Encryption on z/OS, and end to end flow of implementing such encryption, and encrypting of various data sets (VSAM, IMS, DB2, etc.) 2+ years of experience on RACF, ICSF, Crypto Express 6/7/8s, TKE appliance, EKMF/EKMF Web, Liberty Server, zDMF 3+ years of experience on z/OS data set encryption and associated key management (master and operational keys) 3+ years of experience on data migration in z/OS using zDMF or other tools Automation of manual processes such as key label creation, RACF permissions on keys, setting access to Client segments, migration to extended format and data set encryption/migration concepts, use of zDMF tool 2+ years of experience in programming or scripting languages like REXX, COBOL, JCL, etc. Experience with storage level (disk and tapes) encryption or protection Experience with in-transit encryption and its implementation in z/OS Experience with zLinux and capabilities of Pervasive Encryption Experience mentoring/guiding less experienced staff Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Advanced critical thinking, problem solving and technical troubleshooting abilities Ability to identify and assess issues then make sound decisions Security Certifications such as CISSP Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge and understanding of Vanguard and Splunk Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames Thanks and Regards .
