This is a long-term opportunity. The opportunity requires the candidate to be able to work in HYBRID Fashion at the Clients Central Office located in Richmond, VA with work at least 2-3 days/per week on-site. Day 1 Onsite The candidate applying must be living closer to Richmond, VA area within a 50 Mile Radius (Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia Area) and willing to move to Richmond, VA, for the HYBRID Position. Must Have 8+ Years of Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments (2012 R2 and up) 8+ Years of Strong technical knowledge of current server infrastructure, protocols, and standards, including firewalls, certificates, and load balancers 5+ Years of Deep knowledge and experience working within Microsoft Azure (or a similar cloud provider) as a lead/senior administrator/engineer 5+ Years of Strong technical knowledge of networking, servers, databases, and cloud environments, including Windows, Linux, SQL Server, and Oracle. 3+ Years of Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code Terraform, etc.) & Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) 3+ Years of Experience working regularly with scripting languages (Powershell/Python) 2+ Years of Demonstrated experience with any continuous integration tools (such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps/TFS, etc.) 1+ Years of Experience with Office 365 & Power Apps platforms 1+ Years of Experience with Azure Data Lake Job Responsibilities This position will require deep knowledge and experience working with Azure, as well as well-rounded knowledge on some of its common service offerings VDOT uses/plans to use (App Services, Function Apps, Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure Kubernetes Service, etc.). Assist in the maintenance and implementation of VDOTs Azure Cloud environment Work with developers, solution architects, system architects, project managers, DBAs, management, and other engineers to utilize Azure offerings in an efficient, secure, and optimized fashion Provide guidance on best practices with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS offerings Participate in off-hours work as needed Assist with additional non-Azure-related efforts in our Windows-based environment Ability to develop, interpret and apply policies and procedures in an IT environment. Basic experience with scripting (PowerShell and/or Python) Ability to create network and system topology design documentation Knowledge and experience using integration tools & technologies to migrate diverse & complex systems & applications from on-prem to the cloud, including testing, configuration, deployment & monitoring. Desired State Experience is considered a Big PLUS. Experience in a Senior Role as a Cloud Engineer/Programmer is a Big PLUS. Bachelors degree (Computer Science; Software Engineering; or equivalent.)
