Job title: AWS SME Engineer Work Location: All are Hybrid, Reston, VA 2 Days Onsite Duration of assignment: 1 Year About the Role: This is AWS SME position, this is a very senior level position looking for AWS SME who has a good solid background on AWS services We need this individual to do a lot of system engineering work, technical requirement analysis, architecture analysis and then kind of come up with proposals, coordinate with tech teams, CCOE, enterprise architecture, Infosec, be a key SME to talk to the teams and kind of drive solutions and also not just solutions but also kind of implementations and improvements in on the platforms and other areas that we have here. This individual needs to understand the current process, work with the principals, l the senior architects, leads, engineers, to come up with the process, set up the meetings, understand the requirements, come up with a few approaches and then test this out in a lower environment and get it enabled. Need to understand, in and out, of AWS components, security pieces and to enable these features This individual will need to partner with the team, understand the requirement, create step functions, figure out the approach and work on prototypes They will be doing cost optimization, how do we do cost optimization, make sure the system health is good in the platforms that we have. Understanding the full architecture layers and documenting what we have, looking at the existing details and putting them in in a confluence page; doing the all the check and balances and giving feedback; knowing where there is a cap is; working and fixing the gaps. Key Skills: Have to have solid knowledge of AWS services background and having development background will definitely assist to write scripts and other things.. CI/CD pipelines JOB DESCRIPTION Data Engineering and Advance Analytics Enablement team is looking for an AWS SME Engineer that will be playing a key role in helping on enabling and expanding Analytics platforms for FannieMae research community and bring in key transformational changes to how we deploy Analytics Tools using AWS cloud native architecture. This role will support a full range of systems engineering activities, including technical requirements analysis, engineering review activities, and special projects that will require individual ownership of Python/R/SAS associated COTS deployments in AWS. Duties & Responsibilities Participate and drive scoping and technical requirements gathering sessions for developing and deploying Python, R or SAS Product Development including designing products, developing product roadmaps, translating design requirements, prototyping, etc. CI/CD development and management of analytics containers and infrastructure provisioning automation, and operational excellence in the cloud Optimize Analytics containers (Python/R) to maximize velocity, efficiency, and agility on cloud native services like ECS, EKS or AWS BATCH Build, test and deploy new Infrastructure as Code leveraging all things AWS: Terraform, CloudFormation Templates, CodePipeline, ECS/EKS (Docker), Lambda (R/Python), CloudWatch, Route53, S3, and more Enhance monitor performance of systems in AWS, including overall system health, reliability, performance, and cost Operational Excellence including improving and overseeing operations Develop & maintain technical documentation including system diagrams, operational procedures & user guides Required qualifications: 5+ years of production experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines in systems like Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline 5+ years of production experience with core AWS services with experience automating AWS infrastructure Experience with AWS cloud migrations Strong knowledge of core AWS services- such as S3, EC2, CloudFormation, RDS Experience in Software Development preferably in Python/Java Solid understanding of AWS networking (VPC, NACLs, SGs, routing etc.) Fluency in aws cli usage and AWS SDKs for Python/Java Python/Java knowledge sufficient to code for AWS SDKs Tools: Python AWS Tech Stack DevOps Other Competencies: 1.
