Onsite from day 1 because we need the designer to come in for a couple of days. Job Description: This UX Designer position will help drive the design and development of global hospitality industry applications by collaborating with cross functional teams. The designer must be passionate about creating and implementing effective user-centered design. The position requires a high awareness of usability factors that promote principles such as learnability, speed, simplicity, efficiency, and consistency. The UX Designer will help design user interfaces for web and mobile form-factors for enterprise applications as well as guest facing applications. Your day to day Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Key Activities) Be a user advocate. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, product, technology, marketing, comms, etc., to help achieve business goals. Think beyond the desktop to employ Mobile First and Responsive Design methodologies to deliver experiences for smartphone, tablet and desktop devices. Understand and articulate the information architecture, workflows, and processes surrounding the user experience. Create UX artifacts including wireframes, user journeys, workflows, interactive prototypes, etc., based on a thorough understanding of IHGs hospitality service functionality and IHGs design guidelines. Lead design reviews with stakeholders and thoughtfully incorporate team feedback. Communicate user interface design implementation to technology teams in the form of detailed specifications and design documents. Mentor and onboard other UX team members. Stay abreast of new techniques and work efficiencies for UX best practices What we need from you Experience, Qualifications and Skills 6+ years of progressive work-related experience, experience in the hotel/travel industry, a plus. PORTFOLIO IS A MUST! 5+ years of UX experience using UX design best practices. Bachelors degree preferred in design-related discipline: Graphic or Interface design; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienced. A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), rapid prototyping, design patterns and design systems, usability and accessibility concerns. Deep understanding of website and application development cycle processes with Agile Methodology. Knowledge of cross-platform cross-browser compatibility and internationalization issues. Expertise in UX Design tools such as Figma, Axure, Adobe XD, Adobe CC, In-vision, Sketch, etc. Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite. (MS Office and 365, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Familiarity with HTML/CSS/jQuery Proactive self-started who is comfortable working in a collaborative environment with team members from diverse backgrounds. Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt when priorities change. Motivated to respond quickly to project emergencies.
