AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is required.

Client is moving from ECS to EKS and need someone who has very strong AWS Kubernetes

Has recently built the Kubernetes platform and workloads.

Expert with Ingress controller and load balancer, Configure and Manage Ingress Controllers (e.g., Nginx, Traefik) ensuring a secure and reliable traffic routing within the Kubernetes cluster.

Configure and integrate observability tools such as DataDog and CloudWatch to enable efficient monitoring, logging, and alerting within the Kubernetes environment.

Recent experience with Ingress Controller and Load Balancer that will help guide and mentor the team with this migration.

Collaborate closely with our DevOps engineers to design and implement a highly scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes on AWS.

Employ your expertise in Blue/Green deployments with canary to implement a robust release strategy that minimizes downtime and risk.

We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our DevOps team on a temporary contract basis. As a Cloud Architect, you will play a vital role in helping us design and implement a Kubernetes-based cloud architecture in AWS and migrate existing workloads from ECS to EKS. Your expertise in AWS, EKS container implementation, ingress controller configuration, Argo CD, blue/green deployments with canary, and observability tools will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our project.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with our DevOps engineers to design and implement a highly scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes on AWS.

Utilize your comprehensive knowledge of AWS services and best practices to architect and optimize the cloud infrastructure.

Lead the implementation of EKS containers, ensuring efficient orchestration and management of containerized applications.

Configure and manage ingress controllers (e.g., Nginx, Traefik) to ensure secure and reliable traffic routing within the Kubernetes cluster.

Employ your expertise in blue/green deployments with canary to implement a robust release strategy that minimizes downtime and risk.

Configure and integrate observability tools such as DataDog and CloudWatch to enable efficient monitoring, logging, and alerting within the Kubernetes environment.

Collaborate closely with the DevOps team to educate and mentor them on Kubernetes implementation, best practices, and blue/green deployments with canary.

Provide guidance on infrastructure and security best practices, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.

Conduct thorough evaluations of existing systems and provide recommendations for improvements, scalability, and performance optimization.

Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, AWS services, and observability tools, and proactively suggest innovative solutions to enhance our cloud infrastructure.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS cloud architecture and design.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is required.

Extensive hands-on experience with EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) container implementation and management.

In-depth knowledge of configuring and managing ingress controllers within a Kubernetes environment (e.g., Nginx, Traefik).

Proficiency in using Argo CD for continuous delivery and deployment of applications in a Kubernetes cluster.

Experience in configuring EKS clusters for blue/green deployments with canary release strategy.

Familiarity with observability tools such as DataDog and CloudWatch for monitoring and logging in a Kubernetes environment.

Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

Solid knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex cloud architecture and deployment issues.

Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate and educate team members on Kubernetes implementation and blue/green deployments with canary.

Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
