JD: Senior Backend Engineer Platform Engineering Summary: The Senior backend engineer to help lead the design and development of our platform services architecture and roadmap. This role will help interface with cross-functional technical and non-technical leadership in evangelizing key technologies we design, build, and offer as services internally and externally for developers and customers. Job Description: Architect, develop, own, and maintain core features and services that involve backend technologies in an AWS environment. Build reusable code and libraries for future use. Support and mentor other engineers on best practices, architecture, and quality. Work with modern containerization (& cloud) technologies like Docker and Kubernetes Engage in technical planning, design, development, and code reviews including peer code review of Pull Requests Stay current with emerging trends, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate. Collaborate with our engineering and development teams working on groundbreaking technologies and drive our internal validation and benchmarking projects for our platform services. Help identify and execute improvements and simplification opportunities with business systems in a domain. Identify and promote the reuse of common services and components. Stay current with emerging trends, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or a related field. Proven experience as a Senior backend engineer/architect or similar role 8+ years of work-related experience in technology research, large-scale, highly available software development/architecture, and/or communications industry network standards. Domain expertise in telecommunications, identity auth-n, auth-z architectures, certificate management, and digital signatures and understanding of software and services in a regulated industry. Experience working with state-of-the-art application deployment practices including but not limited to Docker/Containers and Kubernetes. Experience with modern System programming and Deep Learning software architecture and frameworks. Golang, Rust, Typescript/JavaScript, and Python programming skills. 3+ years of experience working with a major cloud platform (we're on AWS).
