Position: Storage Administrator, No H1B Location: Hybrid in Washington, DC Duration: Long Term MOI: Phone and Video JOB DESCRIPTION: The ITS Enterprise Services unit, provides a wide range of technical services: data centers, system administration, database, middleware, cloud, enterprise monitoring and identity and access management. DevOps Admin position is within ITSSM team which builds and operates a large, hybrid IT infrastructure, with thousands of servers, hundreds of databases and petabytes of data, spanning colocation sites, AWS and Azure. It utilizes modern, infrastructure as code tools like Chef, Terraform, Azure Devops and Splunk etc. We provide a meaningful, open, and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: Expert knowledge in Pure storage array and troubleshooting Knowledge in Dell IDPA backup solution Knowledge in Networker tape backup solution. Knowledge in Dell DPA reporting tool. Knowledge of ransomware related protection in storage and backup area. Function as a resource and expert in all data storage needs and complex architectures required by mission critical applications. Work as part of a team to engineer, implement and operate scalable, highly available systems on-premises and in the Cloud. This position will need to be adept at monitoring the ongoing operation of the storage/backup systems for identifying any security holes and taking corrective actions as needed. Troubleshoot technical issues. Identify opportunities for innovation. Selection Criteria: Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Storage and Backup at enterprise level environment. Knowledge of Ransomware related protection technologies. Experience in at least one of the following IT areas: Unix, Windows, VMware. Expert knowledge in design and administration of Dell/EMC IDPA, Avamar, Data Domain and Networker and DPA reporting Good experience with Dell/EMC Data protection suites Extensive experience with NDMP, CIFS, NFS, deduplication and compression. Knowledge of SAN and NAS constructs (LUNs, Aggregation, Volume / Filesystem, Replication, Snapshots, QTrees / Virtual Volumes). Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications Strong documentation skills Strong interpersonal skills and willing to be a team player Outstanding security related analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems and analyze the root cause Some Experience developing code in at least one high-level programing language and in automation/testing via scripting/programing (e.g. Python, unix Shell, PowerShell) Some Experience in Splunk query and building dashboard.
