Role: Data Engineer/Data Analyst/ PIM/Retail

Location: New York City, NY Hybrid (Local Only)

Duration: 1+year

Rate: $60/hr

Visa: H1 accepted

Candidates must me local to the New York or New Jersey area and commute into the city two times a week in Midtown, NYC. NO RELOCATION CONSIDERED. Please send candidates even if they are over the target rate. Client is flexible.

Support product content management in Product Information Management (PIM) & Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms as needed for syndication to retailer sites and other channels

Build process optimizations, content development strategies with our in-house teams and apply best practices for data integration, and delivery of content that is high volume and comprehensive

Leverage in-depth master data management and PIM knowledge combined with technical data analysis to gain significant insights to maintain and improve product data.

Job Description:

You will work in a fast-paced environment on an online platform that serves 500+ web & mobile sites globally. Your role will have you working on all aspects of the digital customer experience with our range of brands, from engaging customers via digital marketing channels, searching and browsing for products in the online shop and other sales channels, all the way to the customer receiving their order. 

This role will support the collection, management and deployment of product merchandizing information. These processes are critical to our customer experience, customer acquisition and retention across multiple business units, retailers, digital store experiences and travel retail. This team members must ensure that the product assortment can expand at an extremely rapid pace while providing the key product information inputs to facilitate an awesome digital consumer experiences.

As a Product Data Taxonomist for  Product Experience Management (PXM) organization, youll help evaluate, design, develop, and deliver global plus regional taxonomies in connection with the implementation of the Inriver Product marketing cloud platform across business units and regions. You will work closely with our PXM, brand.com, retailer and capability teams to understand and prioritize the customers specific needs, and then work to create or improve existing taxonomies to meet those needs. You may also support technologists and other business experts by documenting requirements for taxonomy use and management, assist in designing processes for sustainable taxonomy management, and helping to categorize items into the taxonomy or assign values.  In addition, you will help support the data cleanup activities and refine the data collection and cleanup processes to ensure product data quality.

Success criteria

Experience analyzing large sets of data to glean insights around product & process improvements/ recommendations

Support business initiative related to changing product information while maintaining the data integrity and hierarchy structure.

Enable activation of retailer regions and markets and ensuring consistency with global taxonomy framework.

Support data cleanup and structure workflows for brand and retailer onboarding.  

Ability to communicate effectively with all level within the organization.

Key responsibilities

Help execute the strategy and the roadmap for product data taxonomy, quality and governance across marketing, reporting and ecommerce across all business units for online and other business units that ingest enriched product data

Help inform on the new process and organization structure between global and region to drive adoption of the product taxonomy workstream - development and evolution of the product taxonomy strategies to maintain a logical product hierarchy, search and marketing hierarchies, as well as the mapped relations between them.

Work across product and brand teams to build a flexible architecture to support a taxonomy strategy that refreshes site hierarchies, attribute types and content options to best support ever-improving search and conversion as well drive the vision for flexible hierarchies that will support fast-paced sku expansion and attribution. This includes Search Engine Marketing, Marketplace, Search & merchandizing, Product Management, Retail and IT teams

Build processes and systems to leverage multiple inbound sources of product information, merge into the new ELC data structures, maintain quality control and manage product syndication to all outbound sources

Support product content management in Product Information Management (PIM) & Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms as needed for syndication to retailer sites and other channels

Build process optimizations, content development strategies with our in-house teams and apply best practices for data integration, and delivery of content that is high volume and comprehensive

Leverage in-depth master data management and PIM knowledge combined with technical data analysis to gain significant insights to maintain and improve product data.

Oversee work product and provide day-to-day direction / task management of data analysts and taxonomists supporting the PXM program.
