Please share suitable profile Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer - Onboard Core Information Position Overview: As an Embedded Software Engineer for Onboard Core Information, you will play a vital role in developing software solutions for Displays and Telematics used in Caterpillar machine and engine applications. Your responsibilities will encompass software development, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and reporting progress. Collaboration with systems engineers and the Core Information software development team will be essential. Candidate Requirements: Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering (BSCE), or Computer Science (BSCS). College graduates with 2-4 years of relevant experience through projects or internships will also be considered. Technical Skills (Required): 3 years of development experience using C++ and/or C programming languages 3 years of development experience with Linux kernel & Linux device drivers Prior experience with embedded software development, design, and architecture Technical Skills (Desired): Familiarity with Agile methodologies Experience with GIT configuration management tool Ability to read electrical schematics Scripting skills using Python Knowledge of RTOS development (e.g., Free RTOS) Experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, and WiFi Proficiency in CAN, J1939, and other data link protocols Application of Design Patterns and Object-Oriented programming Development of Unit Tests and Test Driven Development Usage of debugging tools for embedded systems (e.g., Lauterbach, GDB) Soft Skills (Required): Strong teamwork abilities Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office for producing specifications, reports, and test plans.
