[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Wintel Architect: REMOTE 12 Months We are seeking an experienced Wintel Architect with expertise in Active Directory (AD) consolidation and architectural planning. As a Wintel Architect, you will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive plan to consolidate multiple Active Directory environments into a unified and optimized structure. Your primary focus will be on developing a robust architectural blueprint that ensures the scalability, security, and efficiency of the consolidated Active Directory infrastructure. Responsibilities: Develop a strategic plan for consolidating multiple Active Directory environments into a single, centralized architecture. Assess existing AD domains and forests, analyze dependencies, and devise a roadmap for the consolidation process. Design a scalable and efficient Active Directory architecture that aligns with business needs and best practices. Ensure proper domain design, forest structure, group policy implementation, and replication topology to support the organization's current and future requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists, to plan and execute the migration of AD objects, including users, groups, and computer accounts, from legacy domains to the target consolidated structure. Implement security best practices for Active Directory, including fine-grained access control, authentication policies, and privileged access management. Ensure that the consolidated AD environment complies with security standards and regulatory requirements. Design and implement mechanisms to ensure high availability and disaster recovery for the consolidated Active Directory infrastructure. Develop backup and recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss. Integrate the consolidated AD architecture with identity management systems and other directory services, enabling seamless authentication and authorization across the organization's applications and resources. Create comprehensive documentation of the AD consolidation plan, architectural designs, configurations, and migration procedures. Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders and management. Analyze and optimize the performance of the consolidated AD environment, including replication traffic, domain controller placement, and authentication mechanisms. Collaborate with vendors and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and adoption of the Active Directory consolidation plan. Conduct training sessions and workshops for IT staff to enhance their understanding of the new AD architecture and its administration. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience as a Wintel Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on Active Directory design and consolidation. In-depth knowledge of Active Directory concepts, including domains, forests, trusts, replication, and group policy. Solid experience with AD consolidation projects, encompassing migrations, domain restructuring, and forest reconfiguration. Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems, PowerShell scripting, and identity management technologies. Strong understanding of security principles related to Active Directory and enterprise authentication mechanisms.
