Position: Active Directory Office 365 Engineer Location: Washington, DC Duration: 6+ Months Mode of Interview: Phone and Video Job Description: Client is looking for a Sr Microsoft 365 Engineer. This Office 365 and Directory Services Subject Matter Expert (SME) position requires in-depth knowledge of Microsoft-based infrastructure design and development, messaging and directory services best-practices and advanced knowledge of systems engineering, operations and management. The consultant should have architect level experience planning, documenting, installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-availability in Directory Services and Office 365 environments. Active Directory for Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, O365 and Azure AD.Detailed responsibilities include: Responsible for the engineering, and day-to-day operations of the FEMS Microsoft 365 environments Responsible for managing Microsoft 365 services, such as Azure AD, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Defender, as well as other M365 services. Design, Deploy and Manage Directory Services related applications and tools, focused on Identity Management, Identity Federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), as well as Certificate Based Authentication (CBA). Lead O365 projects, software upgrades, architecture changes and implementation of new components within the environment. Develop procedures for routine server maintenance, patching, migrating to new platforms, etc. Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and Office 365 issues, working in collaboration with other relevant IT areas and vendor support towards a quick and effective resolution. Responsible for monitoring and resolving Service Desk escalated incidents and problem tickets Monitor performance levels and capacity of supported applications and environments; assist in proper capacity planning and management. Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party AD and Office 365 management overlay products. Develop and enhance PowerShell scripts as needed. ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Organizes, directs, and manages contract operation support functions, involving multiple, complex, and inter-related project tasks. 2. Manages teams of contract Support Personnel at multiple locations. 3. Maintains and manages the client interface at the senior levels of the client organization. 4. Meets with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items. 5. Ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs.
