Job Title : Hardware Analyst Employment Type : Contract Location : New York City, NY Job Description Key Responsibilities of the H/W Analyst are as follows: Monitor ITAM Mailbox, Remedy Change, and ServiceNow for Hard Drive Events (like Decom, Hard drive Retrieval Request, ETRADE Drive Disposal Request, New Drive Storage) The analyst will receive communication about drive decom events, and will escort assets from DC floor to secure storage with DC Ops team members. Analyst will update various systems with chain of custody information, proof of hand off, etc. as defined by the procedures. As assets are received, servers and loose drives will be wiped using the Blancco Wiping software solution. Analyst will load reports of wiped drives as needed to system(s) defined in procedure Securely store the drives in our onsite storage rooms/cabinets at our data center locations- OR - transfer the drives to the teams that maintain inventory at our alternate data center locations In addition to decom events, the analyst will handle drive transfer requests where drives need to be moved into or out of the onsite storage rooms/cabinets that the ITAM team controls. Work with Jira to track work and provide updates to management on volume, issues, and other relevant information. Analyst will work with DC Ops who are usually active from 5pm - 1am. Analyst will usually not need to work later than 8pm, but there could be times where work is required earlier or later than the 11 - 8 standard shift time. Variation of shift times will be infrequent and over time, the shift times will be evaluated to ensure work gets done in a timely and effective manner and to accommodate quality of life for analyst. Skills Set: ATTENTION TO DETAIL: This role requires careful tracking of small assets (disks, etc.) and consistent updates to multiple systems to track chain of custody. There is rigorous audit scrutiny. The candidate should be proficient in the use multiple IT service management systems such as but not limited to Remedy & ServiceNow. Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage time and effectively Goal-oriented, organized team player- detail and process oriented- this is a high-touch, high visibility, auditable procedure, accuracy and detail are key. Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment. Should be able to physically move the technology assets in between data center floor to asset storage room. Should be able to lift 50 lbs. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred Experience Requirements: Knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
