Marketing Strategy Senior Manager Capital Markets

Location: Hybrid Reston/DC (on site 1-2 days/week)

Pay Rate: $55/hr on C2C

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Looking for someone to come in and do full-cycle marketing strategy, development, and delivery will work internal teams and outside agencies to market their products to B2B audience (lenders and investors)

Managerial level, 8-10 yrs exp will need to drive the projects and teams

Will complete research, insights, translate them into POVs and value propositions, marketing recommendations, develop communications strategies, and determine how to deliver it effectively to the audience

Required skills:

Full cycle marketing strategy experience

Capital Market Experience (highly preferred if it was in the mortgage/finance industry)

Microsoft teams suite, SharePoint, experience using project management tools such as Workfront Fusion and Seismic

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a valued leader on Single-Family Marketing, you will manage a team who is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of a comprehensive marketing strategy to reach a B2B secondary market audience, while ensuring functional alignment with Investor Relations on outreach efforts to align with the needs of institutional and private investors.  The ideal candidate will help develop a marketing vision and architecture that simplifies complex capital markets policies, products and processes to encourage user adoption and increase awareness with lender constituents.  You will leverage deep client insights and knowledge to develop break-through marketing, positioning, messaging and content that differentiates Fannie Mae, while meticulously balancing which attributes resonate with key lender segments and use cases.  You will work closely with account teams and internal subject matter experts, such as the Mortgage-Backed Security (MBS) product team, Enterprise Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) team and Racial Equity and Impact Strategy team to effectuate change through marketing programs that inspire action with our lender base and attract MBS investors, all while adding value to help lead the mortgage finance industry to a more sustainable and equitable future.

The Marketing and Communications - Marketing Strategy Senior Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

Drive alignment of marketing strategy and execution to support Single-Family Capital Markets business priorities, including innovative product capabilities and industry leading solutions.

Manage daily activities of a cross-functional marketing team, including Marketing Strategists, Web Developers, Social Media Marketing, External Communications, Investor Relations, Program Managers, and corresponding segment leads.

Foster strong working relationship within the Marketing & Communications department and beyond, including key product and program teams, as well legal, privacy and fair lending stakeholders.

Translate complex mortgage policy and programs to help drive tangible business outcomes by managing external agency partners, creative, media planning, multicultural marketing agencies and research firms.

Identify and create secondary market business opportunities through proactive consultation with current and potential external partners in developing B2B marketing programs, messaging, and key deliverables.

Serve as primary Capital Markets Marketing Strategist to consult, implement, analyze, and drive in-market differentiation via marketing and related outreach programs with lender audience, as well as other B2B audiences.

Manage go to market launch planning and monitoring of capital markets and mortgage product innovation strategies with a continuous improvement mindset.

Evaluate and optimize performance of content, websites, presentations, marketing collateral, event activations and other thought leadership opportunities to amplify the role of Fannie Mae, driving appeal for our mortgage products and solutions with key secondary market audiences.

Research and identify changes in the marketing environment or competitive strategies and evaluate, adjust, or redraft the organization's marketing plan and philosophy.

Establish and monitor adherence to guidelines for developing and implementing marketing plans to serve the business objectives.

Ensure the team stays informed of changes in the marketing environment and coordinate market research projects.

Motivate agency partners to deliver top quality marketing collateral, messaging, and strategic frameworks in a timely manner within budget parameters.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Required Experiences

6 years

Bachelors degree or equivalent

Managerial experience

Understanding of audiences across the mortgage finance ecosystem and/or the investment value chain

Systemic thinker to drive clarity out of complex products, programs and business realities

Critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate business channels and develop proactive solutions

Experience in B2B Capital Markets, secondary mortgage markets, institutional marketing (asset managers, pensions, hedge funds, insurance companies) or Investor Relations functions within financial services/ bank or financial advisors, preferably related to housing finance
