[email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position: Data Scientist (717637) Location: Richmond VA Duration:12 Months Client: RIC-DPU Need Local Candidate ON-SITE - Candidates will be expected to work ON-SITE 5 days per week The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist to support the Customer Service Division (CSD) across 5 functional areas including the Call Center, Billing, Revenue, Logistics, and Field Services. Primary Duties: Data Scientist 2 Create and maintain a dashboard using Power BI Collect data from various sources to interpret, identify trends, summarize, illustrate, and succinctly report data findings and recommendations to achieve and maintain operational efficiencies. Help bridge the gap between data and decision making to assist executives with making strategically guided decisions Model data using high-level conclusions Demonstrate the ability to translate data into clear, actionable next steps for internal teams Serve as a trusted & respected business partner to all levels in the organization Ensure compliance with all regulatory data sharing and privacy laws and regulations Collaborate with Data Analyst and other team members as needed Qualifications: Minimum 4 years experience in data analytics Working knowledge of data engineering principles: understanding how to store, manage, & retrieve large-scale data sets from multiple systems for analysis or operations Experience working with varied, complex data sets, including statistics, surveys, sales, and operational data Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools Possess a higher level of computer proficiency Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Power BI Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights Ability to communicate data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences Knowledge and experience in government operations and utilities preferred SKILLS Experience in data analytics Understanding how to store, manage, & retrieve large-scale data sets from multiple systems for analysis or operations Experience working with varied, complex data sets, including statistics, surveys, sales, and operational data Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools Ability to communicate data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences Knowledge and experience in government operations and utilities preferred Keywords: business intelligence Virginia |
