Title: Database Administrator Client: SOAZ-(AZDPS) Rate: $55/hr on C2C Max Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite) (Locales preferred) Position Description: Database Administrator (DBA) to perform all database support and troubleshooting tasks including production related work, such as full-development life-cycle support for database applications, monitoring, and tuning production performance, creating and defining database files, and making capacity estimates in development and production systems. Assists in design, development, implementation, maintenance, and testing of database application systems; assists in program performance troubleshooting and error debugging; includes current and future storage allocation requirements. Supports staff in the use of database software products for business applications, query, and reporting; includes development of stored procedures for accessing and retrieving data. Mentor application development staff to ensure use of efficient queries and SQL objects are utilized in all created and maintained applications. This position is responsible for identifying, gathering, and combining structured and unstructured data from multiple data sources using ETL processes, transforming data for ease of use in visualization and dashboarding tools. The position will participate in Data Warehouse design and maintenance. They will also participate in architecture, standards, process design, and platform administration regarding data management activity such as integration platforms, data catalog, and cloud data services. Selected candidates will have backgrounds completed by the Department. Once selection has been made, keep eye out for communication details. Skills Required: 1. Solid theory, principles, and practices of database systems specifications standards, applications programming, and database design and utilization techniques. 2. Client server components and methodology. 3. Windows operating system. 4. Microsoft SQL database products. 5. Experienced SQL Server data warehouse technician supporting subscription, publication, monitoring, mature change management techniques, and object optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong professional experience with Microsoft SQL, Excel, data modeling, usability design, visualizations, unstructured information analysis, data warehousing, functional requirements analysis, and business analytics; administering Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, SSIS, and SSRS. Additional preferred qualifications include experience with Power BI, SQL Server Management Studio, Data Management tools, ETL tools (FME, SSIS), metrics, reports, and dashboards. Intermediate skill level in coding SQL and data warehouse design and implementation. Experience with Server management tools, DevOps, and administrative scripting with PowerShell. The candidate should also be highly proficient at understanding business processes, performing business analysis, communicating in written and verbal forms, and have a track record of excellent customer service skills; experience with developing and maintaining technical documentation; and the ability to work in teams or independently. Additional Information: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (NOT INTENDED TO BE ALL-INCLUSIVE): 1. Administering Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, SSIS, and SSRS. 2. Writes security specifications for data access controls for sensitive data. 3. Perform routine database administration such as running change scripts, granting security, migrating reports, restoring backups, and server administration tasks. 4. Performs database administration functions such as sizing databases, creating schemas, subschemas, views, data dictionaries, batch processing jobs and stored reports. 5. Assists in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and testing of database application systems; assists in program performance troubleshooting and error debugging; includes current and future storage allocation requirements. 6. Supports staff in the use of database software products for business applications, query, and reporting; includes development of stored procedures for accessing and retrieving data. 7.
