Title Manufacturing Engineer Location Minneapolis, MN (Onsite) Visa Any Visa Minimum 5 years' experience required, Test fixture - electromechanical test equipment , Industrial equipment, Hvac, Process engineering, Lean manufacturing, Quality Key Responsibilities: The main responsibility will be to continually improve production test equipment, tools, test fixtures, and test processes Support production to meet customer shipment schedules through problem resolution, troubleshooting, documentation updates, and test fixture repair and maintenance. Work with design engineering to understand test requirements Design and build electro-mechanical test fixtures for production Develop test environments and test cases for mechanical and electrical systems Create test process operator instructions Utilize troubleshooting skills to perform maintenance and repair of production test equipment and fixtures Work with Manufacturing Engineering team in the creation of automated and semi-automated test equipment for the manufacturing floor Projects would be tailored to the strengths and interests of the applicant but could include mechanical, electrical, and/or software design aspects. Create Maintenance plans and instructions for production test equipment Program fixtures using, C#, Labview and other programming environments Design and maintain electronic test components (circuit board level) Analyze test capacity and effectivity to optimize product flow through production processes Create, modify, and maintain controlled documents (including detailed tester design documentation) Function as part of the production team(s) and support product quality, line efficiency, and general safety goals and metrics Actively participate in production improvement activities and proactively seek and suggest improvement opportunities. Perform the initial troubleshooting of failures affecting test equipment, fixtures, and processes Work with the Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to ensure a thorough, robust, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program is in place for the shop floor equipment. Support achievement of EH&S goals; complete monthly inspections and complete all assigned action items in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications: Experience in writing/creating technical documentation including prints/drawings, procedures, reports, work instructions, and charts/graphs. Experience with electrical test components and equipment (meter, oscilloscope, signal analyzer, power supply, I/O module, solenoid, actuator, etc). Experience in electromechanical assembly techniques (soldering, wiring, light mechanical assembly, etc). Familiarity with LEAN principles. Able to read and understand prints, drawings, BOMs, and process instructions. Experienced with computers using the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). Demonstrated ability to collect data and perform advanced analysis and/or graphical analysis. Must be a self-motivated, team-oriented individual who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong troubleshooting skills. Availability to work extended hours when needed. Must be reliable, punctual, and respectful of others in a diverse work environment. Excellent written and verbal skills Demonstrated open attitude for continuous improvement. Demonstrated leadership abilities in solving complex problems or leading projects with a multi-departmental team. Proven ability to perform under stress and meet guidelines Must be able to perform essential job functions safely and work within established company guidelines for EH&S and Ethics. Experience designing and/or building test fixtures Relevant programming experience/knowledge Knowledge and experience using JDE are a plus.
