Must have AWS Certification. 4. Min 7 Years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). 5. Min 5 Years of Ansible. 6. The person should have 5 + years of AWS. Job Summary: The cloud systems engineer will design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, infrastructure issues, or other technical concerns. He/She works with loosely defined requirements to design project experiments, build proofs of concept, conduct technical demonstrations, and/or present technical details to audiences of varying technical understandings. Candidate operationally handles software/technical experimentation outputs using DevSecOps Automation pipelines and Infrastructure as Code methodologies and tools, secures operational project applications, data, and/or code. The Job is mostly remote, but the person will be on-site for the meetings. The person should be in driving distance from the site. Position Responsibilities: Performs Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) duties: Works with product owners to develop requirements, user stories, and designs for Cloud based applications using Agile Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing methods. Migrate the DCAPES application from an on-prem environment to a cloud environment. Defines and recommends alternative solutions to management as courses of action that best meet the organization's goals. Works with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent to manage application software requirements, user stories, test cases, and test defects. Configure and utilize Cloud-Native services to provision infrastructure resources such as, but not limited to: IaC (Infrastructure as Code) Management of environment standup. CloudFormation or similar - service that allows description and provisioning of all the infrastructure resources that we will be using within the GovCloud environment. Standup and Configuration of Cloud Monitoring tools such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud Watch. Configure and utilize Cloud services such as EC2, EBS (Elastic Block Storage), Auto-scaling, S3 Storage, S3 Glacier Storage, and Simple notification servers or equivalent Overseeing the migration process and communicating with senior leadership about the progress of the migration. Advising the development team on best practices for developing the DCAPES application to run on the cloud vs. a private data center. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science / Engineering degree in one of the following fields: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. Min 5 year experience in AWS. Strong expertise in Linux and Ansible/Infrastructure as Code (IAC) in the AWS environment. AWS certification. 5+ years systems engineering experience delivering and managing complex enterprise IT projects identify, define, refine and manage requirements Develop use cases and/or user stories Produce system design and process documentation Leading or performing application testing Use agile product development and delivery methods Strong oral and written communications Meets DoD 8570 Certification Requirements: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD Secret Clearance or Higher. Prefer local candidates, remote possible but only for very strong candidates.
