We need more of a DevOps engineer that is an expert in Terraform and can-do Java development. Someone who is a Java developer that also works a lot in Terraform. Role: Java AWS Devops Engineer Locations: Remote but preferred North Carolina Duration: 12+ Months Contract Required Skills: Terraform expert, Java 11+, wide range of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloud Computing, CI/CD Additional Skills: Python, CloudFormation Required Experience 5-7 years Familiarity with a broad portfolio of AWS infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) and experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologies. Extensive knowledge of Java and Terraform. Experience working with basic structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Basic SQL knowledge proficiency and analytical skills. Exposure to modern data/analytics architecture (Big Data, Cloud, etc.). Dev Languages: CDK- support multiple languages Must be Up to date with Java 11 and sooner. Job Description: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer w/Terraform, Java. Highly prefer candidates located in *We are looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer that has a background in development, understanding of architecture, solid experience in Java development, and the desire to apply their skills to cloud technology. Your focus will be to work on a highly cross functional team to build the components other teams will use to create solutions for the Customer. The Senior Engineer works with application developers to automate and accelerate the testing, release and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. The Senior Engineer will have a background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations. They will be providing continuous delivery solutions in a cloud environment and have experience with the core suite of tools used to manage different cloud providers. The Senior Engineer may also be responsible for building and maintaining optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by the Data and Analytics department. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for mentoring and teaching existing team members. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to junior resources. Job Accountabilities Managing the installation and configuration of solutions. Completing code and script updates, as well as resolving product implementation errors. Advanced experience in Terraform and Terragrunt. Contributing expertise on information system options, risk, and operational impact. Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming Java responsibilities. Collaborating with developers on software requirements, as well as interpreting test stage data. Overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests. Create standards and best practices. Knowledge & Experience working on an Agile team. Wants them to work with the CI/CD team and get them on board with what they are doing, but they need to build their own IaC. They need to still be open to doing development. The first 1-2 years will be working with the dev teams to reshape the IaC Current IaC is not just terraform, could be cloud formation etc. This candidate needs to be able to look at what they have, what they need to do and make a direction for what the language they should use. Get them to the point where they manage the infra as code. How to stand up a new stack-Wants them to be focused on Cloud Development. The need to know the ins and outs of Terraform- their team has the most complex terraform installations in the organization. Understanding the tool and other tools in the space, look at the requirements for setting up a new structure and how to set those up, support prod testing. Understand existing terraform, understand requirements, know the tools and how to structure where they want to go.
