| Role: Senior Network Engineer Location: Boston, MA (Purely Onsite) Experience: 9+ years Visa: H1B, EAD, GC, USC Duration: 3-6 months of contract Skillset: Palo Alto Cisco Fortinet FW Aruba Wireless Aruba Switching Aruba Silver Peak Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with a strong skillset in Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet firewalls, as well as expertise in Aruba Wireless, Aruba Switching, and Aruba Silver Peak technologies. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, security, and performance across our organization. Key Responsibilities: Network Design and Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Develop network architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical specifications. Firewall Management: Configure, deploy and manage Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet firewalls to enforce security policies, threat prevention, and intrusion detection. Monitor firewall logs and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents. Wireless Network Expertise: Design and implement robust Aruba Wireless solutions, including access points, controllers, and guest networks, to provide reliable wireless connectivity. Optimize wireless performance and troubleshoot issues related to coverage, interference, and authentication. Switching Infrastructure: Implement and manage Aruba switching solutions to ensure efficient and reliable LAN connectivity. Configure VLANs, spanning-tree protocols, and other switching features to support business needs. WAN Optimization: Utilize Aruba Silver Peak to design and implement WAN optimization solutions, enhancing data transfer efficiency across distributed locations. Network Security: Implement security best practices by configuring access controls, network segmentation, and VPNs to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance. Monitor network traffic for anomalies and potential security threats. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address network performance issues. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex network problems to minimize downtime. Project Management: Lead network-related projects from inception to completion, coordinating with stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring successful project delivery. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to enhance overall team expertise. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (CCNP, PCNSE, ACMP, etc.) are highly preferred. Extensive Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and administration, with a focus on Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet firewalls, Aruba Wireless, Aruba Switching, and Aruba Silver Peak technologies. Firewall Expertise: In-depth knowledge of configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet firewalls, including rule management, NAT, and threat prevention. Wireless and Switching: Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing Aruba Wireless and Switching solutions for optimal performance and reliability. WAN Optimization: Experience with Aruba Silver Peak or similar WAN optimization technologies to enhance data transfer efficiency. Security and Compliance: Strong understanding of network security principles, including access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to diagnose complex network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions. Project Management: Demonstrated success in leading network projects, including planning, execution, and timely delivery. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
