Job Description:- Job Role:- Optical Engineer V Location :- Redmond, WA (Hybrid) Contract Job Description: Work in a targeted solution space using programming, optical modelling, simulation, and optimization skills to produce optical components. Working with a cross functional team to design and build metrology validation systems of optical components. Skills: Strong Python programming skills including notebooks, and server usage Experience with electromagnetic wave simulation, FDTD, RCWA Experience in Ray Optics, Wave Optics and Polarization Optics. Including design, modeling, and benchtop systems. Attributes: Self-starter, motivated, chases down details and follows up and follows through Actively seeks out answers when stuck, doesnt wait on the team Able to work with limited inputs and can handle ambiguity General curiosity and willingness to learn Able to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects at once Creative, enjoys design work Experience level: 5 years work experience Knowledge: Expertise in ray tracing software (ZEMAX, Code V, FRED etc) Expertise in python programming Expertise in FDTD and RCWA modeling and simulation Note: Onsite role in Redmond WA. Top 3 must-have HARD skills: Computational photonics. Computational laser simulation and modelling. And then theyll need some decent python experience as well.
