Richmond, VA Hybrid MOI: In-person Interview Local Richmond, VA candidates required for ONSITE work, at least 3 days/wk client is seeking a senior oracle database administrator to join the Oracle/SQL Server Database Administration Team in the Enterprise Data Management section. The selected candidate will administrator & support Oracle databases throughout the agency. The selected candidate will: Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Independently perform a variety of complicated tasks. Work with a team of Oracle/SQLServer DBAs. Communicate clearly and effectively, both speaking and in writing. Perform installations of database related software. (including database upgrades and patching). Monitor databases to maintain/ensure database uptime and availability. Troubleshoot application/database issues related to connectivity, access, security and etc. Tune long running SQL using AWR/ASH/ADDM/Profiler and etc. Review & refine existing database tasks and processes to better align with agency/group priorities. Perform database migrations between multiple release of Oracle12c,19c and 21c using data pump export/import, RMAN database duplication procedures. Working Experience in OCI/ Exadata Design, Migration and Administrative support Leverage & utilize cron and O/S scripting in support of database maintenance/diagnosis/support. Review the existing database implementation and propose, execute, and/or direct necessary changes. Qualifications: Over 5 years of experience in maintaining/supporting Oracle databases. Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems with strong technical experience or other applicable and/or equivalent skills, knowledge and/or work history. Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively using standard requirements and design artifacts. Desired knowledge of and experience with the following technologies: Oracle Database and Grid Infrastructure installation and upgrade versions 12c, 19c. Oracle database configuration reviews, audits and troubleshooting on versions 12c 19c for all platforms supported by Oracle. Expert knowledge on Backup and Recovery solutions with RMAN, as well as logical backups and backup scripting. Advanced performance tuning skills with expertise on Oracle performance analysis tools such as ASH and AWR along with SQL Plan Baselines, SQL Profiles Good understanding of latest DB new features and ability in applying them to provide a measurable value on clients systems. Experience with Exadata deployments, managing and maintaining Exadata/OCI environments Knowledge and experience of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Exadata Cloud Service Preferred Experience: Exadata / OCI Administration Migrating DBs from OnPrem to OCI Exadata Advanced database/SQL tuning concepts, DevOPS, CI/CD Special Instructions to Applicants: This position requires a fingerprint-based background check. The successful contractor will be required to continue education at own expense to stay current with VDOT technologies. Position #2: Oracle APEX Developer Location: 109 Governor Street, Richmond, VA 23219 MOI: Web Cam Interview Only REMOTE - STRONGLY PREFER LOCAL CANDIDATES *Local candidates strongly preferred We will be migrating all existing PLSQL Web toolkit application or pages to Oracle APEX. Developing Required Interfaces or make changes to the existing interfaces. Convert the existing PLSQL Web toolkit application in to APEX Professional experience working with Web based applications using Oracle as the backend is required. In-depth knowledge of Oracle 18c/19 Database, SQL, PL/SQL programming and Javascript or Jquery is required. Experience in APEX and HTML is required. Experience in Web PLSQL Tool Kit is highly desirable. Strong background and work experience in developing true web applications are necessary.
