Role: Workday Financials - Principal Engineer II Location: Chevy Chase, MD/Remote Duration: 3 Moths contract to hire Job description: Client is looking for Principal Engineers who are recognized experts in Enterprise Financials Reporting technology domains and represent the senior technical leadership within their organization. They are responsible for driving the direction of their part of the organization, assisting management and other senior technical leaders create strategic roadmaps, and driving priorities to meet various objectives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a) Building Workday reports and/or integrations and handle Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) activities, b) Implementing dashboards in alignment with the organizations programs, goals, c) Configuring security roles / framework; d) Developing complex calculated fields to meet business requirements AND e) Deep understanding of PRISM / Workday Studio Integrations. This role reports to Senior Manager and above. Alongside, collaborate with workday Managers, Principal Engineers and the other workday functional areas on any data requirements that would require the use of standard and custom reports and/or integrations within Workday. As a Senior Engineer you will mentor junior team members and create SOP, share best practices, and improve processes within and across teams. Responsibilities: Work in alignment with engineering managers for resourcing, defining strategy and identify development opportunities for team members. Looks for innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope. Should have best understanding of how different services works together across several teams and able to guide senior engineers for any architecture decisions when they are not sure what is best for the teams. Define and lead the technical aspects of software maturity model and work with different stake holders to ensure that they are implemented across several teams. Develop and provide technical standards and guidance in all software design and development activities across several teams. Create effective and applicable technical solutions that fit business needs and requirements across several teams. Teach, mentor, grow, and provide advice to other domain experts, individual contributors, across several teams in their sub-department. Overseeing and managing technical gaps between different teams Ability to motivate engineering team and must have effective communication, analytic, SME and project management skills. Regularly attending team meetings to discuss program, setting up white boarding sessions to resolve or talk about new set of requirements. Required: 8+ years of experience with application design, implementation, maintenance, diagnosing/correcting issues, managing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining compliance with industry security standards under minimal direction. 3+ years of Workday Financials reporting and/or deep Workday Studio / PRISM integration, Workday Security, Tenant Management, Data Consumption methodologies for Workday Integrations and developing & handling Complex calculated fields.
