No visa sponsorship is available, candidates need to be eligible to be converted to FTE Interview: video Job details: The IT department is seeking an experienced Snowflake Application DBA who is looking to join a fast paced, growing, team focused on growing and managing the Snowflake platform. The ideal candidate should have a desire to leverage and build on their DBA knowledge as well as deepen their understanding of the Snowflake platform. Role The Snowflake Application DBA will play a central critical role for identifying performing core database administration for the Snowflake environment, build automation to optimize the environment, build pipelines to define metrics related to all things snowflake and be key central point of contact for Snowflake within the organization. The role involves logical database design, reporting and the ongoing support and administration of databases, data marts, warehouses, and data lakes. The role is responsible for writing and debugging complex SQL and understands the best ways to incorporate database requests into application programs. The role is deeply involved in requirements definition, design, development, deployment, maintenance and enhancement of a variety of database structures. Implement/support automation for production deployment in Snowflake Develop, build & maintain mission critical centralized data platform using Snowflake Diagnose and troubleshoot Snowflake database errors Implement Snowflake user /query log analysis and alerts Should work with heterogeneous user groups from data engineers to data scientists Implement data encryption/decryption/masking policies to protect PII/PCI data Demonstrated proficiency of index design, query plan optimization and analysis required User security auditing Create Snowflake utilization and capacity plan Tune the database to improve Snowflake queries Provide technical leadership, fosters a team environment, and provides mentorship and feedback to technical resources Train users and answer questions On-call responsibilities on rotational basis for Snowflake database administration Should be able to review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project Experience with Snowflake and Oracle. Ability to migrate from on-premise databases to cloud-based Snowflake User management, Security management, performance management, High availability management, space management, and backup management of databases Experience with database tools, such as: SSMS, Toad, and ER/Studio Data Modeler Build and maintain secure, compliant data processing pipelines, tables, views, procedures and datasets Integrate, transform, and consolidate data from various structured and unstructured data systems into structures that are suitable for building analytics solutions and/or performing analysis Use database management tools and other Azure services for availability and performance monitoring Automate database administration tasks using SQL and shell scripts Work with engineers in support of SSO authentication requirements Managing sets of XML, JSON, and CSV from disparate sources Knowledge of SQL-based databases like Oracle SQL Server, etc. Understanding of Snowflake warehousing, architecture, processing, administration Data ingestion into Snowflake Enterprise-level technical exposure to Snowflake applications Interprets, identifies, and solves unique and meaningful problems Leads technical contribution to requirements / story development conversations Communicates complex findings in a structured and clear manner to a non-technical audience (written and verbal) including communication to leadership Follows best practices and standards, identifies gaps and suggests changes Responsible for understanding environmental constraints and planning to mitigate Works respectfully with all team members, both OneAmerica colleagues and vendor partner team members Required Skills 3+ years of experience as a system or application DBA or a similar technical function 2+ years of experience supporting Snowflake running on Azure or AWS cloud Superb communication and coaching skills with the ability to connect with members of the development teams Ability to apply and influence best practices and sound database design principles on the Snowflake platform Can design architecturally appropriate solutions with no guidance Engineering work aligns with Policies, Standards and Roadmaps Engineering work is of quality and does not detract from overarching quality metrics Able to deliver with minimal to no supervision Can provide assistance to some team members Desired Skills -Snowpro Core Certification a plus -- Keywords: information technology green card |
