Job Description: Capital Markets Technology (QTS) has embarked on major transformation programs across various functional pillars including pre-trade, trade processing, risk, data intelligence, operations across asset classes globally. In this role you will provide pivotal architecture leadership to drive and define target state functional architecture target states working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders. The position is an Associate Director level based in Toronto and involves working closely with teams in New York, Toronto, and London. PURPOSE The objective of the Domain Architecture role is to formulate multi-year target state architecture and roadmaps across Capital Markets Technology Pillars which include e-trading, trade processing, operations, client intelligence, etc. Additionally, the role requires governing nearer term program architectures developed by line of business technology teams. The overarching requirement is to collaborate heavily with key business and technology stakeholders to drive key outcomes. The role is meant to drive transformation across QTS by delivering value-added capabilities for our internal and external stakeholders. The efforts are expected to result in significant change by aligning the focus of disparate efforts towards a common goal. What will you do The candidate will be responsible for formulating architecture by analyzing current challenges / impacts, identifying areas of business & technology benefit, driving convergence across stakeholders and developing roadmaps / funding estimates to achieve target outcomes. The role entails clearly defining the scope, objectives, focus areas, deliverables, etc. with clear KPIs. The candidate will also be responsible for developing broader understanding of the priority across the stakeholder community through conducting workshops, lunch and learns, host blogs and networking groups to engineer the curiosity and build it further. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Stakeholder & Relationship Management Build and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders business and technology leads and their delegates. There could be multiple delegates based on the different focus areas in each group. Work in collaboration as a trusted partner to ensure that priorities are understood, deliverables are clearly defined; aligned to the strategic priorities and meet the required timelines and benefits. Tracking and measuring KPIs. Ensure that the leads/delegates have affirmed ownership of the content and reviewed it fully before publishing it to the different stakeholders. Proactively communicate issues and engage them as necessary in required forums. Build an awareness of the in-flight initiatives across the different groups and their impact on the overall strategy. Transformation is channeled by advocating change in the delivery of the initiatives. Facilitation & Presentation skills Build a sound understanding of strategy & architecture and prepare required presentations (power points) to allow dialogue with different stakeholders. Work closely with the leadership team to drive their message by generating creative, visual and timely content/presentations. Collaborate with leads across various groups to develop the required architecture and presentations ensuring tight alignment with the strategy, platform and functional objectives. Ensure that the information is meaningful and can be understood easily by our stakeholders business friendly text is important. Facilitate meetings/dialogue on topics with the purpose to deepen the understanding on any topic; engage with subject matter experts on due diligence to prepare the required information and present it to stakeholders. Execution & Project Management skills Formulate target state functional architectures based upon business domain knowledge, business imperatives, and technology objectives. Develop and enforce required process to deliver the overall presentations. Proactively reach out to all leads with best practices to bring the awareness to implement and monitor change. Facilitate implementation of the process so each team can provide the required information to deliver on the strategy. Prepare and maintain project artifacts to track the different initiatives aligned with architecture objectives, i.e., roadmap, resources, cost, benefits and clear status/accomplishments. Commit teams across to deliver toward overall transformation targets with defined metrics, KPIs, etc. Monitor to ensure that they are delivered on target. Escalate any issues proactively with due alternatives to avoid losing momentum. Identify with the culture in managing all issues One team! Role Specifics: Skills and Knowledge Requirements 10+ Years of IT Leadership/Development 7+ years development experience in Capital Markets technology organizations 5+ years experience in a solution / domain architecture role with focus on Capital Markets technology Consulting firm experience with broad exposure to multiple firms and breadth across Capital Markets front to back flows is a plus Proven responsibility to lead communications support, with a primary focus on presentations; sound relationship management, involvement in large scale change management, transformation and project/program management Consulting Advisory Services, Strategy & Architecture development and execution, and Business Process Management; Target operating model Engagement Complexity: Range of 5-10 initiatives; # of people to communicate with ~ 25-30 people; Levels or people to interact with - engage with L3/L4/MDs/Directors contributing to overall architecture direction Required expertise in Microsoft Office tools with proficiency in PowerPoint.
