| Role: Sr. Oracle DBA position for a Life Sciences/Pharma company Location: SFO / Remote Type: Contract Need only 10+ profiles Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain Oracle database systems across multiple environments, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance. Perform database installations, upgrades, and patching, while adhering to best practices and company standards. Monitor and proactively manage database performance, diagnosing and resolving issues to ensure optimal database operation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions that align with business requirements. Plan and execute backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime. Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and authentication. Participate in support for critical database incidents. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to Oracle databases and AWS services. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the DBA team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator. Proficiency in administering Oracle Database 12c and higher, including RAC and Data Guard. Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, RDS, S3, and VPC. In-depth knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting. Experience with scripting languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, Python, or Shell scripting. Familiarity with database automation and orchestration tools. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) and AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty) are a plus.
