We have an urgent opening with DevOps Engineer and I have sent you job description, please go through it and let me know your comfort with it and also send me your updated resume ASAP Job Title: DevOps Engineer Location: Foster City CA On site Duration: Contract Job Description and Responsibilities You will be working primarily on the DevOps process, which includes managing applications on Containers ( Docker & Kubernetes ), tool development based on JavaScript framework, integrating with many other technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, etc. and several inbuilt Visa utilities. The engineer helps to reduce release time to production and strengthen Site Reliability Engineering tools (SRE) As an Site Reliability Engineer, you have a mindset to maximize system availability through both proactive and reactive means: you build robust technical support and automation to eliminate or minimize incidents, as well as investigate and resolve issues in response to live incidents. You are comfortable working with software engineering teams and supporting their demanding needs to ensure the security, availability, and performance of the platform. You will establish working relationships with one or more teams, providing assistance through the development cycle for any required changes to the tools & processes required to get a product released into test and production environments. Key Responsibilities You will identify and support all site reliability request related to Platform services You will lead/determine and develop architectural approaches, Infrastructure solutions to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Platform services Build and maintain tools needed for automated deployment in various environments Work with the team to troubleshoot operational issues and develop tools for automation of the same Creating and maintaining documentation of the build/release process. You will partner closely with software and systems engineers across the organization to ensure services/systems are highly stable and performant Mentor other team members on managing end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services while working on individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables Strong communication skills with a strong sense of urgency and attention to details Qualifications Basic qualifications: 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD GIT experience highly desired and experience in SCM ( Source Control Management ) tools Extensive experience in Unix/Linux administration and Bash Scripting Advanced level expertise in one or more scripting languages, such as Python ( preferred), JavaScript ( preferred ), Ruby Experience with Configuration Management automation tools like Chef & Ansible ( preferred ) Experience in automating release and build processes Expert knowledge in CI/CD and hands on implementation experience (ex: Jenkins) Hands on experience with container related technologies like Docker, Kubernetes Hands on experience on how to monitor software and Infrastructure and its related tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and ELK Live in terminal and ability to script/debug in Shell/PowerShell Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including creating and running queries [MySQL and NOSQL] Working knowledge of web/middleware servers like Nginx and Tomcat Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef/Ansible Experience of working with ITIL disciplines (Event, Incident, Problem, and Change) Experience with Java Spring Boot environments with sound knowledge of Webservers, Application Servers, Client-Server Architectures and Microservices Experience with Repository Management systems like Artifactory, Nexus Complete understanding of the software development life-cycle and agile software development methodologies Experience in administration of Atlassian tools like Wiki, Jira, etc. is an added advantage Preferred qualifications: 8 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 6 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD University Recruiting: MBA/ PhD without experience 8+ years experience in Site Reliability or Production Engineering group for high availability/critical platforms/applications Keywords: continuous integration continuous deployment information technology golang California Maryland |
