ROLE: Teradata Administrator LOCATION:REMOTE The candidate is expected to be a senior member of Enterprise Data Management team to administer and support large data platform spanning across Business Data landscapes, Data Warehouse Systems and many heterogeneous data sources. The candidate should possess broad functional knowledge and in-depth technical knowledge in Teradata, Scripting, Linux Administration and Architecture. Qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for migrating DB2 to Teradata Datawarehouse and for researching, designing, building, testing, deploying, analyzing, administering, monitoring and maintaining Teradata environments and associated hardware and software technology components to meet current and future business needs. Key Responsibilities Technical/Functional: Responsible for implementation and ongoing administration of Teradata infrastructure Solutions. Responsible for Migrating DB2 database to Teradata following all standards and best practices Actively participate in all phases of project development life cycle including database policies, procedures, standards and supporting documentation, database design and build, process flow analysis, development, benchmark analysis, performance/tuning, capacity planning, and production implementation Responsible for capacity planning and estimating the requirements for lowering or increasing the capacity of the Teradata on On-prem platforms. Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouses and Data Marts Consult on physical database implementations, PPI, skew analysis, join methods, and data access paths Establish and Maintain Backup and Recovery Policies and Procedures Experiences in backup and restore (BAR) design and implementation Very strong in database design, tuning, and trouble shooting Solid in the transition of the logical data models to physical data models using Er-Win or equivalent data modeling tools Experience in setup, configuration and management of security and integration with LDAP/AD at an Enterprise level. Stay up to date with new Teradata releases and technologies and make recommendations for upgrades as necessary Ensure the security of sensitive data by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures Advanced working knowledge of Teradata suite of tools; DataMover, BAR, TASM, TTU Tools, TPT, DBQL, PDCR, Viewpoint, Querygrid Automate DBA daily activities through Jenkin, Git, Scripting etc. Monitoring and controlling the performance and status of critical components and providing technology component support and problem resolution. Knowledge of implementing Row/Column level Data security, Data Encryption. General operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of system capacity, bottle necks and storage capacity planning. Ability to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with change Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Point of Contact for Vendor escalation. Handling designers, developers and business request. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of additional tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Business Objects, Informatica is a plus! Skills & Attributes : 15+ years of overall experience in IT 10+ years experiences in Teradata Administration In depth knowledge of Linux Administration and Architecture In depth knowledge of Operations management ITIL Tools In depth knowledge of Data warehousing, Teradata Administration In depth knowledge of Security, Performance, Monitoring Scripting experience - write code and automate repeatable processes Experience with Automation tools like GIT, Jenkins. Cloud/VM experience deploying and administration of apps on VM, Amazon AWS, Google or Azure. Education: Bachelors' Degree and +15 years of experience, any professional Certifications in Teradata, DB2 are desired but not mandatory and will be an added advantage.
