They DO NOT want senior resources. They have to be very local to Manhattan, and able to work onsite twice a week, every other week (4 times a month). They are not open to relocation and they dont want people commuting a long distance. The Opportunity: The Business Analyst will liaise with members of Global Media Production, the Digital Systems Group, global business units and Global Tech teams on gathering, analyzing and documenting requirements, following through on activities supporting new business initiatives, system features, data conversions/migrations, system implementations and rollouts. The holder of the position will work on a broad spectrum of projects and systems within the Digital Asset Management space and will help us further develop its capabilities to manage and digitally distribute music and media assets. An ability to interact with business and IS&T personnel at all management levels is critical and the ability to juggle many tasks in a dynamic environment is a must. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Maintenance of a cross-system dashboard which coordinates development tasks across the team Collaborate with product, project and development stakeholders and teams to gather requirements, coordinate dependencies, and identify risks and opportunities Partner with Product Owners on one or more Agile development teams to translate product roadmap features (tied to issues or other general business-generated items) into well-defined product requirements/user stories and acceptance test criteria Work with application support and development team to resolve software bugs and escalated issues Prepare and distribute end-user communications for system releases, patches, and unexpected outages Assist in the maintenance of the internal Wiki, including documentation of system changes and process updates Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree 2-3 years of work experience prior experience in music/media industries preferred Experience using Agile methodology (writing user stories, managing scrum calls, prioritizing backlog, etc.) Experience with test planning and writing use cases Decision/Problem Solving Skills: Proven analytical and investigative skills Proven planning and organizational skills Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Creativity and problem solving in a complex, fast-paced environment Detail-orientation and follow through on tasks and work plans Ability to summarize verbal communication and discussions into relevant written materials and documentation Ability to effectively present information, interact with, and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and vendors Ability to work effectively as a member of multiple teams Ability to remain objective and calm in difficult situations Good time management skills Strong initiative and sound lateral thinking capability Ability to facilitate effective team interaction Ability to manage expectations effectively Other: Required skill with Word, Excel, PowerPoint Required familiarity with JIRA / agile and scrum management tools SQL experience preferred Familiarity with diagramming tools (Visio, Draw IO, etc.) preferred From the Hiring Manager: Working within a scrum team, familiarity with scrum processes candidate may eventually serve as a scrum master, but scrum master experience is not required. User story writing and curation. Meeting with technical and business stakeholders to determine need and priority. Working closely with Rohit (project lead) to prioritize epic level development, refine requirements and maintain a high-level roadmap. Meeting with other scrum teams and BAs to coordinate development activities across supply chain. Willingness to learn SQL/database querying and testing with API tools (e.g., Postman, GraphiQl, etc.) Fundamentally, we are looking for people with good communication skills as there is a lot of coordination/communication; somebody self-driven and independent as we are not a micro-managing group; and somebody thats willing to learn some technical stuff like SQL querying and API testing.
