I do have a cobol applications developer role in Des Moines IA  they have to be local they must be already living in Des Moines IA.

NO relocation wanted local candidates only max is a 1 hr drive to WeDes Moines IA

Ideal Candidate

:   Mainframe support team member that understands how to build and support software which safeguards the customer experience through both resilient and reliable code and system architectures. This individual will have experience working in a development shop and will have participated in architecture/systems engineering. They will not be building features but designing/supporting the application stack. For this role, intermediate to advanced exposure to Mainframe(Cobol, JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, MQ) would be expected in addition to other Reliability Engineering  skills as described below.

Qualifications:

Reliability Engineering mindset (Exposure to SRE tenants that includes - Observability, Monitoring, Alerting, Logging, Toil, Automation, SLO/SLI/SLA/Error Budgets )

Intermediate to advanced level exposure to - Mainframe Skills (Cobol, JCL, DB2, CICS, MQ)

Intermediate to advanced level of Exposure to mainframe tools (CA7, EZtrieve, NDM, TSO, file-Aid, etc)

Understanding of concepts and techniques related to resiliency, scalability, observability, monitoring etc

Background as a software developer (Experience in Mainframe development)

Experience troubleshooting incidents involving mainframe application components

Solid approach to design resilient and reliable application architectures.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for how code and applications are monitored, as well as the availability, latency, change management, emergency response, and capacity management of services already in and going to production.

Lead complex incident resolution across multiple platforms.

Execute code deployments and associated artifacts, as requested.

Focus on end-user experiences, not just service up / down.

Partner with development teams to implement changes to increase uptime and performance based on empirical evidence.

Monitoring production Service Level Objectives, and testing them in pre-production with intelligent quality gates to detect issues earlier in the development cycle.

Deploying closed-loop remediation continuous testing and remediationto fix problems in pre-production before software is released to production.

Previous WF Experience is not necessary, but would be appreciated.
