Job Title: Database Administrator Visa: USC/GC Work Model: Hybrid Only (2-3 days a week) Location: Newark, NJ Client: Prudential Contract Length: 12 months contract to hire We are still searching for qualified DB2 DBA Candidates, the HM has stated the profiles received have been more on administration side while the team is looking for Development DBA who can tune/rewrite stored procedures. This roles is not on Mainframes but LUW. No z/OS resumes People with developing/rewriting stored procedures background should be prioritized over Infrastructure DBAs. At-a-Glance: Are you ready to build your career by joining a global financial company If so, our client, is hiring a DB2 DBA Database Administrator (DBA)! What Youll Do: The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for providing operational and development support to the organization. Responsibilities include meeting with application project teams to consult on the development of projects, reorganizing database when needed, monitoring and analyzing database performance and usage patterns, and evaluate tools and software. Assess and make recommendations for selecting new tools or software and they will lead the development and documentation of standards for the use, control, updating and maintenance of a database. Essential that the DBA should have experience across backup and recovery, performance monitoring, tuning and storage management so that they can assist with developing data processes, optimize performance, and troubleshoot and resolve any database issues. Will attend meetings with project teams and will own basic database administration activities. (Please specify technologies associated) What Youll Bring: 7 to 10 years' experience with DB2 UDB 11x. 7 to 10 years' experience as DB2 SQL developer with a strong focus on writing stored procedures. Demonstrable experience with analyzing and optimizing complex stored procedures. Extensive experience with database performance tuning including stored procedures. Strong knowledge of IBM DB2 UDB and technical database concepts, such as: logical relational data modeling, physical data modeling, tuning large instances, resource management. In-depth knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling. Experience in LINUX/UNIX Korn Shell scripting Agile experience (Ability to work in sprints) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
